A Thailand certification listing has provided the clearest indication yet that Xiaomi is preparing a Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G for global markets. The reported 9,210mAh battery is the detail that stands out most, although the capacity has not been confirmed by the regulator.
Thailand’s NBTC has approved two Xiaomi devices carrying the model numbers 26081RA18G and 2609FRA74G. The listing identifies them as the Redmi Note 17 5G and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G.
A Pro Max Variant Emerges Outside China
The Redmi Note 17 series previously introduced in China included regular and Pro models, without a third Pro Max version. That absence had raised doubts about earlier reports surrounding a higher-end variant.
The NBTC entry changes that picture by directly using the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G name. Gizmochina linked model number 2609FRA74G to the Pro Max, while 26081RA18G is associated with the Redmi Note 17 5G.
The certification does not disclose pricing, launch timing, memory options, or a full specification sheet. It therefore confirms the product name and its apparent global positioning, rather than every feature reported so far.

Rumoured specifications place the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G at the top of the wider lineup. It is expected to feature a 7-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone is also said to use MediaTek’s Dimensity 7500 chipset. Reports point to a 9,210mAh battery for the global version, compared with a reported 10,000mAh battery on the version circulating in China.
Both versions are associated with 100W charging support. The difference in battery capacity remains unconfirmed, as NBTC documentation does not publish these hardware details.
Camera rumours include a 32 MP Samsung S5KKDS front camera, a 200 MP Samsung HP5 main camera, and an 8 MP OmniVision OV8F10 ultra-wide camera. The reported combination would make the main camera another key distinction for the Pro Max model.
Four storage and memory configurations have also been linked to the global device. They include 8GB+256GB, 8GB+512GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB options.
Other reported features include a microSD card slot, NFC, and IP68 dust and water resistance. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed these specifications through the Thai certification process.
The Standard Model Is Also Heading Toward Global Markets
The same NBTC approval covers the Redmi Note 17 5G, which is expected to retain several core elements of the China model. Those reported elements include a 7-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The standard model is expected to run on Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, with a 50 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. It is also reported to support 45W charging.
Battery capacity is expected to differ by market. The global Redmi Note 17 5G is said to have a 7,700mAh battery, while the China version has an 8,000mAh unit and the India version may retain that larger capacity.
For now, the NBTC listing establishes that both Redmi Note 17 5G names are being prepared for global use. Official details on availability, pricing, and final specifications have yet to be announced.
