Samsung may be preparing two sharply different smartwatch upgrades for its next Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, 2026. A leak linked to Evan Blass claims the Galaxy Watch 9 could replace its Exynos chip, while the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 may receive an 800mAh battery.

The alleged changes would give each model a distinct role. The Watch 9 appears aimed at everyday health tracking and software efficiency, while the Ultra 2 would place greater emphasis on endurance for outdoor use.

Galaxy Watch 9 Could Move to Snapdragon

The Galaxy Watch 9 is said to retain its familiar round case, two physical buttons, and compatibility with straps from the previous generation. Its reported major change is internal, with Snapdragon Wear Elite expected to replace the Exynos W1000.

The new chipset is said to improve power efficiency, speed up on-device AI processing, and strengthen support for the global Wear OS ecosystem. Gadget.viva.co.id reported that the transition could also bring smoother system responses and broader third-party app support.

Samsung is expected to offer the Galaxy Watch 9 in 40mm and 44mm sizes. The smaller model is listed with a 390mAh battery, while the larger version is said to have a 445mAh cell.

Model Size Battery Estimated Price
Galaxy Watch 9 40mm / 44mm 390mAh / 445mAh €299 / €329
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 47mm 800mAh ~€749

Reported Galaxy Watch 9 colors include White, Graphite, Green, and Black. The estimated price is €299 for the 40mm version and €329 for the 44mm version.

Health Tracking Remains Central to Watch 9

The leak also points to expanded health functions on the Galaxy Watch 9. Its Vitals Watch Face is said to display heart rate, SpO₂, skin temperature, and stress levels in real time.

The watch may issue alerts when it detects anomalies, although the available information does not detail how those alerts would work. Samsung is also said to be improving the accuracy of Sleep & Energy Score readings.

A reported Running Coach feature would track training progress and adjust plans according to user performance. Sleep apnea detection is also said to receive an upgrade from the feature previously available on the Watch 7.

The Snapdragon Wear Elite platform could provide a foundation for generative AI functions, according to the leak. Possible examples include intelligent notification summaries and activity predictions, though neither feature has been officially confirmed.

Ultra 2 May Prioritize Endurance Without a Thicker Case

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is rumored to use an 800mAh battery, up from 590mAh in the 2025 Ultra generation. That represents an increase of roughly 36 percent if the reported specifications are accurate.

Despite the larger battery, the 47mm titanium case is said to be 12 percent thinner than the previous model. The device is also expected to retain 10ATM water resistance and an IP69K rating.

Its display is rumored to be a 1.5-inch OLED panel with a 480×480-pixel resolution and peak brightness of 5,000 nits. The estimated price for the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is approximately €749.

None of the specifications, prices, or features has been confirmed by Samsung. The reported split between a health-focused Galaxy Watch 9 and an endurance-focused Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will remain tentative until the company makes its announcement.
