Vivo Y500 Pro Launches with 7,000mAh Battery, 200MP Camera Starting at $290

Vivo has introduced the Y500 Pro in China, targeting mid-range smartphone users who prioritize battery life and advanced photography. This new model combines a large 7,000 mAh battery with a high-resolution 200 MP camera, all packed in a sleek design.

The device features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. According to Vivo, the screen can reach a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, ensuring clear visibility even under direct sunlight.

Despite its sizable battery, the Y500 Pro maintains a slim profile with a thickness of just 7.81 mm and weighs approximately 198 grams. The screen bezels are narrow at around 1.37 mm, adding to its modern, compact look.

Under the hood, the Vivo Y500 Pro runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 chipset built on a 4nm process, supporting 5G connectivity. It offers memory configurations up to 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage, suitable for multitasking and large file storage.

To support heavy use, the phone is equipped with a layered graphite cooling system that helps maintain stable performance during demanding tasks. This ensures smooth operation for gaming or work sessions.

Photography is a major highlight, with a 200 MP primary sensor from Samsung (HP5) equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). This technology helps capture sharper, more stable images, particularly in low-light conditions.

Supporting the main camera is a 2 MP depth sensor that enhances the bokeh effect in portrait shots. For selfies, the phone includes a 32 MP front-facing camera capable of high-resolution video recording, perfect for vlogging or video calls.

The battery capacity of 7,000 mAh is designed to last up to two days of normal usage. Additionally, the Y500 Pro supports fast charging at 90W, enabling the battery to reach 50% charge in about 25 minutes, according to official specs.

Durability is also addressed through IP68 and IP69 ratings, which signify protection against dust and water under specific conditions. This makes the phone more resilient for everyday use.

The Vivo Y500 Pro is offered in four colors: Auspicious Cloud, Light Green, Soft Powder, and Titanium Black. Pricing in China starts from 1,999 Yuan (~$280) for the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variant. The higher configurations with 12 GB RAM and up to 512 GB storage are priced up to 2,599 Yuan (~$365).

Currently, the phone is available only in the Chinese market via Vivo’s official website and online retail partners. There is no confirmed date yet for a global or Indonesian release.

With its large battery, advanced 200 MP camera, and slim build, the Vivo Y500 Pro is a compelling option in the mid-range segment for users who want powerful photography and long-lasting performance without bulk.
