QRIS Tap myBCA Now Available on Samsung Galaxy Watch for Convenient Transactions

PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) and Samsung Electronics Indonesia have introduced QRIS Tap myBCA on Samsung Galaxy Watch. This new feature enables users to perform digital payments directly from their wrist, eliminating the need to take out their smartphone.

The QRIS Tap feature appears in the NFC Pay menu within the myBCA app, integrated with NFC technology on Galaxy Watch models. This marks a significant step in Indonesia’s digital payment evolution, providing users with faster, more convenient transactions.

Integration of NFC Technology and Samsung Knox Security

Galaxy Watch is recognized as the most comprehensive smartwatch ecosystem ready for QRIS Tap payments in Indonesia. It supports NFC technology compliant with Bank Indonesia standards to ensure quick and easy transactions. Each payment benefits from multilayered protection using Samsung Knox security.

The feature is available on Galaxy Watch4, Watch5, Watch6, and Watch8 series. This upgrade expands the smartwatch’s role from health monitoring and productivity to a powerful payment device.

Innovative Collaboration Between Samsung and BCA

Selvia Gofar, Head of Group MX Category Management at Samsung Electronics Indonesia, highlighted that this launch reinforces Samsung’s leadership in wearable innovation. She stated, “Samsung and BCA are the first to deliver the easiest QRIS Tap experience directly from Galaxy Watch users’ wrists.”

The innovation caters to modern lifestyles focused on efficiency and mobility. Selvia added that customers benefit not only from the smartwatch’s advanced capabilities but also from secure contactless payments protected by Samsung Knox technology.

Jan Hendra, Executive Vice President of Transaction Banking Product Development at BCA, welcomed the collaboration warmly. He emphasized that the wearable version of myBCA shows BCA’s ongoing commitment to providing customers seamless transaction experiences anytime and anywhere.

He further explained that the joint effort enhances user experience significantly. Through Galaxy Watch, users can:

  2. Use Show QR feature allowing merchants to scan for payments.
  3. Withdraw or deposit cash at BCA ATMs without cards using code transactions from the Cardless menu.
  4. Access account balance and transaction history quickly.

Ease of Transactions Across Transport and Merchants

QRIS Tap myBCA on Galaxy Watch is designed to facilitate payments across various merchants and public transportation in Indonesia. It supports contactless payments on LRT Jakarta, Jabodebek trains, KRL Commuter Line, and MRT gates equipped with QRIS Tap, as well as Transjakarta buses on all corridors.

Besides transport, the Show QR feature allows purchases at numerous merchants with secure payments completed within seconds. This delivers a practical and safe experience for users on the move.

How to Set Up QRIS Tap myBCA on Galaxy Watch

Users need to configure the feature both on the myBCA smartphone app and Galaxy Watch by following these steps:

  1. Initial Setup on myBCA Smartphone App: Open myBCA, access settings, choose ‘Smartwatch Connection,’ click ‘Connect Now,’ select the Galaxy Watch paired to the phone, accept terms, and enter the myBCA PIN.
