OnePlus 15R Set for December 2025 Launch: Key Specs and Pricing Leaked

OnePlus is set to launch its latest smartphone, the OnePlus 15R, on December 17, 2025. The debut will take place in India and various global markets, alongside other products like the OnePlus Pad Go 2 and the OnePlus Watch Lite, which targets the European market.

Ahead of the launch, leaked information sheds light on storage options and expected prices in India. According to a trusted informant on X (@passionategeekz), the OnePlus 15R will come in two variants: 12GB RAM paired with either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The higher-end model is anticipated to be priced above ₹52,000 (around $640), while the base variant will likely be between ₹47,000 and ₹49,000 (approximately $580–$610). These prices position the OnePlus 15R in the premium mid-range segment.

OnePlus is rumored to offer special bank discounts on launch day, potentially reducing the effective price by ₹3,000 to ₹4,000 ($37 to $49). Official pricing and promotional details will be confirmed during the event.

Design and Color Options

The smartphone will be available in two primary colors: Black and Green, targeting the general consumer market. Additionally, a distinctive Ace Edition in Purple will cater to users seeking a more daring and unique look.

Camera Upgrades

One of the most notable upgrades in the OnePlus 15R is the front camera. The device will feature a 32-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus, the most advanced in the OnePlus R series to date. This represents a significant improvement over the OnePlus 13R, which only had a 16-megapixel front camera without autofocus. The new front camera supports 4K video recording at 30fps, while the previous model was limited to 1080p.

The phone incorporates DetailMax Engine technology, enhancing image sharpness and detail for both photos and videos. Despite sharing the same resolution as the front camera on the OnePlus 15, the 15R uses an OmniVision sensor rather than the Sony IMX709 sensor found on the 15.

Display and Performance

The OnePlus 15R will sport a 1.5K resolution display with a 165Hz refresh rate, promising smooth visuals for gaming and daily use. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, a flagship-level chipset known for its high performance and efficient power consumption.

Battery and Software

The device boasts a large 7,400mAh battery, coupled with fast charging capabilities at 80W, making it one of the largest batteries ever in a OnePlus phone. It will run on OxygenOS 16 and introduces a new Plus Key feature, giving users quick access to smart functions.

Rear Camera and Durability

On the back, the OnePlus 15R includes a 50-megapixel main camera capable of recording video at 4K resolution and 120fps. Durability is enhanced with IP68 and IP69 certifications, offering water and dust resistance suitable for varied environments.

With its high-end specifications, significant front camera upgrade, substantial battery capacity, and competitive pricing in the premium mid-range category, the OnePlus 15R is poised to be a compelling option for consumers toward the end of 2025. Complete official details, including final pricing and launch promotions, will be disclosed on December 17.
