Comparison Between OPPO A6 and A6x: Key Differences and Price Gap Explained

OPPO Indonesia officially launched two new entry-level smartphones, the OPPO A6 and OPPO A6x, simultaneously on December 17, 2025. Both models aim to compete aggressively in the affordable smartphone segment, but OPPO positions the A6 as the higher-tier option. Meanwhile, the A6x targets budget-conscious users, reflected in a significant price difference between the two.

The price gap impacts their specifications and features considerably. The main question for buyers is which model offers the best value based on these differences.

Camera Comparison: OPPO A6 Offers Higher Resolution

Both smartphones feature dual rear cameras, but the OPPO A6 provides a higher camera resolution. It has a 50MP primary sensor paired with a 2MP monochrome camera, while the front camera is 8MP. OPPO enhances the A6’s photography with AI-driven features such as AI Night Mode, AI Portrait Retouching, AI Perfect Shot, AI Recompose, and AI Eraser 2.0.

On the other hand, the OPPO A6x’s dual cameras have lower specs, designed primarily for basic photography needs like social media sharing. Therefore, users who prioritize clear and detailed photos will find the OPPO A6 more appealing.

Performance: Both Powered by Snapdragon 685

Surprisingly, both OPPO A6 and A6x run on the same Snapdragon 685 chipset. This octa-core processor with Adreno 610 GPU handles everyday tasks smoothly. RAM and storage types are also similar, using LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 memory for faster read-write operations compared to older eMMC storage.

However, the A6x offers more memory configurations, including 4GB to 6GB RAM and storage options from 64GB up to 256GB. Conversely, the A6 is limited to 6GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB internal storage. This variety in A6x memory options provides affordability and flexibility for different user needs.

Battery capacity reveals the biggest difference. The OPPO A6 has a large 7,000 mAh battery, supports fast charging at 45W SUPERVOOC, and offers Reverse Wired Charging. It also includes advanced features like NFC, dual stereo speakers with volume boosted by 300%, AI LinkBoost 3.0, AI GameBoost 2.0, extensive VC SuperCool heat dissipation, and an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance. The A6’s price ranges around $194 (IDR 2.9 million) for the 6/128GB variant and $220 (IDR 3.3 million) for 6/256GB.

Meanwhile, the OPPO A6x comes with a 6,500 mAh battery and supports Reverse Wired Charging, but fast charging details are not clear. It offers a 3.5 mm audio jack, side fingerprint sensor, IP64 rating, and also features AI LinkBoost 3.0 and AI GameBoost 2.0. Its price starts from approximately $107 (IDR 1.6 million) to $180 (IDR 2.7 million), depending on the chosen memory configuration.
