14-Inch MacBook Pro with M5 Chip Now Available: What You Need to Know

Apple has officially launched the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the new M5 chip in Indonesia. This release follows its introduction in the United States in October 2025, coinciding with the iPhone 17 series launch. The arrival of this premium laptop targets creative professionals and power users seeking enhanced performance.

The MacBook Pro 14-inch M5 is now available through authorized Apple resellers in Indonesia. Prices range from IDR 28 million to IDR 34.5 million, depending on RAM and storage configurations. In USD, this is approximately $1,860 to $2,300.

Enhanced Performance with the M5 Chip

The new M5 chip features a 10-core CPU consisting of 4 high-performance cores and 6 efficiency cores. This architecture balances processing power and energy consumption effectively. The GPU is upgraded to a 10-core graphics processor that incorporates a Neural Accelerator on each core.

Apple claims the M5-powered MacBook Pro delivers AI performance up to 3.5 times faster than the previous M4 model. Compared to the M1 version, AI speed is six times faster. Multithreaded processing has improved by 20%, enabling smoother handling of demanding tasks like video rendering and file compression.

Graphics performance for professional and gaming applications is up by 1.6 times. This makes it highly suitable for content creators, video editors, and graphic designers who need robust visual processing.

Advanced Neural Engine for AI Capabilities

The M5 chip’s 16-core Neural Engine operates with greater efficiency, improving AI-based workflows. Tasks such as image upscaling, voice transcription, and macOS Sequoia’s Apple Intelligence features benefit from faster and more responsive execution.

This advancement positions the MacBook Pro M5 as a future-ready machine that meets growing AI computation demands alongside conventional workloads.

Improved Battery Life and Charging

Despite retaining the same 72.4 Wh battery as its predecessor, the MacBook Pro 14-inch M5 achieves greater power efficiency. Apple reports a battery life of up to 24 hours per charge, which is about four hours longer than the M1 generation. This is a new record for MacBook Pro models.

The laptop supports fast charging via a 70-watt USB-C charger, reaching approximately 50% battery capacity in just 30 minutes.

Design and Display Features

The design of the MacBook Pro M5 remains consistent with the October 2024 M4 version, maintaining a modern and premium look. It features a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR Display with 1,964 x 3,024 pixel resolution.

This screen supports a 120 Hz ProMotion refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits. These specifications ensure comfortable viewing under various lighting conditions.

Comprehensive Professional Features

Equipped with a 12 MP front camera capable of 1080p resolution, the laptop also includes a six-speaker audio system with Spatial Audio support. It offers three directional microphones for clearer voice capture during online meetings.

Connectivity options include Thunderbolt 4 ports, along with MagSafe charging, an HDMI port, an SDXC card slot, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Wireless connectivity supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

Users can connect up to two high-resolution external displays, which supports multitasking and professional workflows.
