Apple has officially launched the new 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip in Indonesia, available through authorized distributors such as iBox, Digimap, and Blibli. This release marks the first device equipped with the M5 chipset, which significantly advances performance and power efficiency for professional-grade laptops.
The MacBook Pro M5 targets users requiring high computing power, including students, creative professionals, developers, and business users. Apple highlights that the M5 chipset introduces a new foundation with upgraded graphics and artificial intelligence capabilities beyond previous generations.
M5 Chipset: Enhanced AI and Graphics Performance
The laptop features a 10-core GPU and a Neural Accelerator integrated within each core, boosting AI performance by 3.5 times compared to its M4 predecessor. The 16-core Neural Engine accelerates AI applications such as text-to-image generation and large language model processing locally on the machine. Real-world tests show a 6.8-fold performance increase in 3D rendering with Blender compared to the original M1 model.
In addition, code compilation in Xcode runs more than twice as fast, supported by an SSD with twice the throughput for faster handling of large files. Apple claims the MacBook Pro M5 offers AI speeds 86 times faster than Intel-based MacBooks, while GPU and CPU speeds are 30 and 5.5 times greater, respectively. Compared to the M1 chip, AI speed improved sixfold and GPU performance increased 6.8 times with ray tracing support included.
Long-lasting Battery and Premium Features
The 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 delivers up to 24 hours of battery life per charge, surpassing the Intel version by 14 hours and the M1 model by 4 hours. Users still benefit from the Liquid Retina XDR display with peak brightness up to 1,600 nits, a 12MP Center Stage camera, and a six-speaker audio system with Spatial Audio technology.
On the software front, the MacBook Pro runs the latest macOS Tahoe operating system. It introduces a modern Liquid Glass design, an enhanced Spotlight search, and Apple Intelligence integrations that provide real-time translation within FaceTime, Messages, and phone calls.
