Ayaneo has stopped production of the Pocket Fit 8 Elite after component costs rose sharply, especially for RAM and storage. The company said the handheld’s manufacturing no longer made financial sense under current market conditions.

The decision comes after months of delays, with initial units only now starting to reach early backers. Ayaneo also confirmed that it will prioritize outstanding orders before offering any remaining stock to the public, and even that restock may be the final one.

Why Ayaneo Pulled the Plug

The Pocket Fit 8 Elite runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, a high-end chip that targets premium Android handheld gaming. But the processor itself was not the only pressure point, because memory prices and storage costs climbed much faster than Ayaneo expected.

That price shock changed the economics of the device. When the cost of key parts rises too much, a small hardware maker can quickly lose room to absorb losses, especially on a niche product with a limited audience.
