Xiaomi Raises Phone Prices Again, Redmi And Poco Take The Hardest Hit

Xiaomi has started raising smartphone prices in Indonesia from April 2026, and the adjustment is hitting Redmi and Poco the hardest. The change affects several models across the Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco lines, with increases ranging from about $12 to nearly $67 depending on the variant.

The biggest pressure comes from rising memory costs, especially RAM and storage. Xiaomi says the company is reviewing prices to protect product quality and keep innovation moving as component expenses climb.

Why Prices Are Going Up

Industry data shows that a 12 GB/512 GB memory package rose by 1,500 yuan, or about $207, compared with the first quarter of 2025. That kind of increase matters because modern smartphones depend heavily on larger memory configurations, especially in mid-range and higher-capacity models.

For Xiaomi, the problem is not limited to one market. Reports from GSM Arena also note that the company canceled some promotional pricing for the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max in China as part of broader market adjustments. That suggests the pressure is global, not just local.

What Changed in Indonesia

The clearest impact in Indonesia appears in new pricing for several popular models. Xiaomi’s April rollout shows higher tags across its main brands, and the entry-level and mid-range price points have shifted the most.

Model Old Price New Price Increase
Xiaomi 15T 12/256 GB about $430 about $497 about $67
Xiaomi 15T 12/512 GB about $497 about $530 about $33
Xiaomi 15T Pro 12/512 GB about $664 about $697 about $33
Redmi A5 4/128 GB about $93 about $106 about $13
Redmi 15 8/128 GB about $152 about $165 about $13
Poco C85 6/128 GB about $102 about $128 about $26

The sharpest move in the list is the Xiaomi 15T 12/256 GB, which climbed by about $67. Poco C85 also saw a notable jump of about $26, while the two Redmi models increased by roughly $13 each.

Why Redmi and Poco Feel the Most Pressure

Redmi and Poco have long depended on aggressive pricing to win buyers in the budget and value segments. Any increase here can quickly affect demand because shoppers in this category often compare only small price differences before making a purchase.

Redmi is especially exposed because its brand identity is built around affordability. When prices move up, buyers may begin to look harder at competing phones from realme, Samsung, or other budget-focused brands that have not yet adjusted pricing at the same pace.

Xiaomi Indonesia’s Position

Andi Renreng, Marketing Director of Xiaomi Indonesia, said the company adjusts prices based on several cost factors. He also said Xiaomi continues to review pricing regularly so product quality and innovation remain consistent.

That statement reflects a common challenge in the smartphone market: manufacturers must protect margins while keeping products competitive. As memory costs rise, higher-capacity variants usually bear the heaviest burden because they rely most on expensive components.

What Buyers Should Watch Next

  1. Compare prices across all storage variants before buying.
  2. Check whether the price gap justifies the jump in RAM or storage.
  3. Watch for official promotions from Xiaomi channels and authorized retailers.
  4. Consider whether a lower-capacity model already fits daily needs.
  5. Track competing brands, since the budget segment can shift quickly after any price revision.

For consumers, the April price move may do more than raise purchase costs. It could also reshape buying decisions in Indonesia’s most price-sensitive smartphone segments, where Redmi and Poco have usually offered some of Xiaomi’s strongest value propositions.
