Honor has drawn fresh attention after staging an eye-catching promotion for the Honor 600 Pro in Hong Kong. The device was displayed on the back of a black truck parked directly in front of the Apple Store on Canton Road, creating a public scene that was hard to miss.
The setup quickly stood out because the orange finish of the Honor 600 Pro echoed one of the colors associated with the iPhone 17 Pro. Its rear design also invited comparison with Apple’s premium phones, especially because of the long horizontal camera layout.
A message aimed at comparison
The truck carried more than just the phone itself. It also featured a line that read, “It’s our HONOR, able to compare oranges to oranges,” a phrase that clearly suggested comparison on equal footing without naming Apple directly.
The wording worked on several levels. The word “oranges” pointed back to the orange-colored device, while “Honor” also carried a double meaning that strengthened the brand’s confidence-driven message.
That choice of promotion made the campaign feel less like a standard product showcase and more like a deliberate challenge in a highly visible location. By placing the display in front of Apple Store, Honor sent a symbolic message that was difficult to overlook.
A design that invites comparisons, but not imitation
From a distance, the Honor 600 Pro can resemble the iPhone 17 Pro at first glance. The rear camera module stretches horizontally, but the camera arrangement inside it still follows a zig-zag pattern that keeps the phone visually distinct.
Honor did not copy Apple’s design outright. One camera module on the back is shaped like a pill, preserving a recognizable Honor identity even as the overall look sparked online discussion.
The standard Honor 600 takes a different path. It uses two rear cameras arranged vertically and adds a flash, giving it a simpler and more conventional appearance than the Pro model.
Camera hardware as the main selling point
Honor is also positioning the 600 series around camera performance. The main camera on both models uses a 200 MP sensor with a 1/1.4-inch size, which gives the series its strongest hardware headline.
On the Pro model, that main camera is paired with a 12 MP ultrawide lens, a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50 MP front camera. The regular model keeps the same main camera, but its secondary camera uses a 12 MP ultrawide lens with a 112-degree field of view, while the front camera remains similar to the Pro version.
Honor has not disclosed every display specification yet, but it has confirmed that both devices will reach 8,000 nits of brightness. That claim suggests the phones are meant to remain readable outdoors, including in direct sunlight.
Performance and battery support
The two models also split by chipset. The Honor 600 uses Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, which Honor says brings a 27 percent faster CPU.
The Honor 600 Pro steps up to Snapdragon 8 Elite, with a claimed 40 percent faster multi-core CPU performance. Both phones come with an 8,000mAh battery and support 80W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 27W reverse charging.
Honor has not yet revealed full pricing, global availability, or all remaining specifications. The company has, however, indicated that the Honor 600 series is set to launch on 23 April 2026, keeping attention focused on both the hardware and the unusually bold promotion that placed it directly in front of Apple’s own retail presence.
