Huawei has expanded its WATCH FIT lineup with a new Pro model that leans heavily on two practical strengths: an extra-bright display and long battery life. The device is aimed at users who want a lightweight smartwatch that remains easy to read outdoors while still covering fitness and health needs for daily use.
The WATCH FIT 5 Pro sits at the top of the series and carries the most complete feature set. Huawei positions the standard model as a simpler alternative, with a lighter body and a more accessible price for general users.
A display built for outdoor visibility
At the center of the WATCH FIT 5 Pro is a 1.92-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a 480 x 408 pixel resolution. Huawei also uses a 1.8 mm bezel and 2.5D glass, giving the watch a cleaner and more refined look.
Its main headline feature is the 3000 nits peak brightness. That level of brightness is intended to improve readability when the watch is used under direct sunlight, whether the wearer is checking notifications, tracking a workout, or reviewing health data.
Lightweight construction with premium materials
Huawei keeps the titanium alloy frame on the WATCH FIT 5 Pro, continuing a design direction that emphasizes durability without making the watch feel bulky. The strap uses a woven design that helps the device stay comfortable during longer wear.
The WATCH FIT 5 Pro weighs 30.4 grams without the strap, which keeps it relatively light for a smartwatch with this level of hardware. It comes in White, Orange, and Black, offering a few visual options for different tastes.
Fitness tools that go beyond the basics
Huawei is also giving the Pro model additional sports functions to separate it from the standard version. The WATCH FIT 5 Pro includes cycling assistant and golf mode, making the watch more useful for users with specific training routines.
Health tracking is another area where the Pro version stands out. It supports ECG, and Huawei also mentioned research related to blood sugar monitoring, although the launch information did not explain that feature in detail.
Sensor differences define the Pro model
The gap between the two WATCH FIT 5 versions becomes clearer in their sensor packages. The Pro model includes an accelerometer, gyroscope sensor, geomagnetic sensor, ambient light sensor, optical heart rate sensor, barometric pressure sensor, temperature sensor, ECG sensor, and depth sensor.
The standard WATCH FIT 5 carries most of the same sensors, but it does not include ECG or depth sensing. That difference reinforces Huawei’s approach of placing the Pro model as the more capable option for health and activity tracking.
Battery life remains a major selling point
Battery performance is another reason the WATCH FIT 5 Pro draws attention. Huawei says the watch can last up to 7 days under regular use, and around 10 days with lighter usage.
That endurance makes the watch appealing for users who prefer not to charge a smartwatch frequently. Combined with the bright screen and light form factor, the battery claim helps position the Pro model as a practical daily companion.
The regular WATCH FIT 5 uses a 1.82-inch AMOLED display with the same resolution, but it is tuned more for simplicity. It offers 2500 nits peak brightness and weighs 27 grams, which makes it the easier option for users who want a straightforward smartwatch for everyday wear.
Pricing and rollout
Huawei opened the WATCH FIT 5 at 1099 yuan, while the WATCH FIT 5 Pro starts at 2099 yuan. The standard model began pre-order on April 20 and went on sale on April 29, while the Pro version opened for pre-order on April 29 and became available from May 15.
With its 3000 nits display, up to 10 days of battery life, and expanded sensor set, the WATCH FIT 5 Pro is clearly designed as the more advanced choice in the lineup. Huawei appears to be targeting users who want a smartwatch that stays lightweight on the wrist but still offers enough brightness, endurance, and health tracking to handle active daily use.
