Apple is reportedly preparing a broader set of Apple Intelligence upgrades for iOS 27, with four features designed to make the iPhone faster at reading, identifying, and organizing everyday information. Based on internal code leaks cited by GSM Arena, the update could be introduced at Worldwide Developers Conference, or WWDC, in June, before a possible release alongside the next iPhone lineup in September.
The changes are centered on practical tasks that users encounter often. Rather than focusing on flashy redesigns, Apple appears to be aiming at features that save time when handling text, scanned documents, and digital records.
Visual intelligence takes a bigger role
One of the most notable additions is said to involve visual intelligence. The feature may be able to scan nutrition labels on food packaging and then present more detailed information to the user.
If linked with Apple Health, the scan result would not stop at simple text recognition. That connection could make food information easier to relate to a user’s overall health tracking, giving the iPhone a more active role in everyday wellness routines.
More than just food labels
The same visual intelligence system is also expected to recognize phone numbers and addresses from printed text. Once detected, the iPhone could immediately offer an option to save that information into Contacts.
That would extend a capability Apple has already introduced in earlier forms, where the system could help add calendar events from visible text. In practice, the camera would move beyond photography and become a tool for capturing useful details directly from the real world.
Apple Wallet may handle cards more automatically
Another area expected to receive attention is Apple Wallet. In iOS 27, the app may be able to create digital cards automatically from scanned event tickets, gym membership cards, and similar documents.
This would reduce the manual steps currently needed when turning physical items into digital versions. If the feature works as described, Apple Wallet could become a more central hub for storing access cards that are used in daily life.
Safari is also in line for AI support
Safari is reportedly among the apps receiving new AI assistance in the update. The browser may be able to automatically name tab groups based on the content of the pages currently open.
While the feature sounds modest, it could be useful for people who manage many tabs at once. Better tab organization would make it easier to return to information later without sorting through a cluttered browsing session.
Taken together, the four reported features point to a version of iOS that places more emphasis on useful intelligence than on cosmetic change. From scanning food labels to saving contact details, organizing digital cards, and tidying tab groups, iOS 27 appears aimed at making the iPhone faster, more practical, and more capable in routine use.
