Oppo Pad 5 Pro has arrived quietly, but its hardware makes it hard to ignore. The tablet is positioned as a premium device that combines a large display, high-end performance, and software tools aimed at making it feel closer to a PC than a conventional slate.

That positioning is reinforced by a mix of features that go beyond entertainment alone. With a 13.2-inch 144Hz screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and accessories that support productivity, Oppo is clearly targeting users who want one device for work, media, and gaming.

A display built for more than video playback

The most prominent part of the tablet is its 13.2-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 3392 x 2400 pixels. Oppo uses a 7:5 aspect ratio here, which gives the screen a wider working area for reading documents, handling multiple windows, and moving between daily tasks more comfortably.

The panel also supports an adaptive refresh rate from 30Hz to 144Hz. Oppo says the screen reaches a peak brightness of 1000 nits, while DCI-P3 support and a DeltaE value of around 0.7 are included to help preserve color accuracy.

For users who spend long sessions on the device, the screen package also includes Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, TÜV-certified eye protection, and DC dimming. Those additions are meant to reduce strain while keeping visuals sharp for streaming, browsing, and creative work.

High-end silicon for demanding use

Under the hood, the Pad 5 Pro runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. That combination places the tablet firmly in flagship territory and suggests strong headroom for multitasking, gaming, and fast app switching.

Oppo says the chipset brings improvements in CPU and GPU efficiency. In practical terms, that should help the tablet maintain smoother performance when opening several apps at once or when switching between productivity tools and entertainment content.

Gaming is another clear focus. The tablet supports high-frame-rate gaming, and some titles can reportedly run at up to 144Hz. Oppo also highlights improved thermal management, which is intended to keep performance stable during longer play sessions.

Battery capacity without a bulky build

Power comes from a 13,380mAh battery, one of the tablet’s main selling points. Oppo pairs it with 67W fast charging, giving the device enough endurance for long streaming sessions, work use, and gaming without frequent stops to recharge.

Despite the large battery, the tablet remains relatively slim at 5.94 mm. Its weight is listed at around 672 grams, which is not unusually light for a large tablet, but it stays reasonable given the size of the display and the battery inside.

Software and accessories push the PC-like angle

Oppo ships the Pad 5 Pro with Android 16 and ColorOS 16. The software includes multi-window support, PC-level WPS tools, and improved file management, all of which are designed to support a more desktop-like workflow.

The tablet also supports stylus input for note-taking and drawing. Oppo adds AI-based note organization and cross-device connectivity features, making it easier to move between the tablet, a phone, and a PC.

A keyboard accessory helps complete that setup. Combined with the software layer, it gives the Pad 5 Pro a more laptop-style identity than many tablets in the same category.

Audio, color options, and pricing

For sound, Oppo equips the tablet with eight speakers. That setup is intended to deliver a fuller experience for films, games, and music without needing external audio gear.

The Pad 5 Pro comes in four memory and storage configurations: 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 512GB. In China, pricing is set at 3,799 CNY, 3,999 CNY, 4,499 CNY, and 4,999 CNY respectively.

Three color choices are available: Dawn Gold, Mocha Brown, and Monet Purple. Oppo has not confirmed international availability yet, while reports suggest the OnePlus Pad 4, expected in India on 30 April, could be a rebranded version of this tablet, though that remains unverified.
