Oppo is preparing another high-end tablet for its lineup, and the early signs suggest that the Oppo Pad 5 Pro is being positioned as a serious flagship option rather than a routine refresh. The device is set to debut in China on April 21, with a large 13.2-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and a big battery as the main highlights.
The tablet is also expected to replace the Oppo Pad 4 Pro at the top of the series. Based on the information Oppo has already shared and the specifications circulating in leaks, the new model appears aimed at users who want one device for work, entertainment, and heavy multitasking.
A familiar design language, but still premium
Visually, the Oppo Pad 5 Pro does not seem to be chasing a dramatic redesign. The rear camera module keeps the oval, capsule-like shape already associated with the Pad Pro family, which helps preserve the identity of the series.
That choice suggests Oppo is focusing on refinement rather than a full visual overhaul. The tablet will reportedly be offered in three color options: Mocha Brown, Dawn Gold, and Monet Purple.
The 13.2-inch display takes center stage
The most eye-catching part of the Oppo Pad 5 Pro is its display size. A leak shared on Weibo points to a 13.2-inch LCD panel, which places the tablet firmly in large-screen territory.
A screen of that size should offer more room for video playback, document reading, and split-screen use. For users who move often between entertainment and productivity, the larger panel could be one of the device’s strongest selling points.
Flagship hardware is built for demanding use
Performance is another area where the Oppo Pad 5 Pro looks ready to compete at the top end. The device is rumored to run on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a chipset that should place it among the faster tablets in Oppo’s portfolio.
That hardware choice points to a device designed for heavier tasks, including gaming and multitasking. Oppo is also preparing several memory configurations, namely 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and 16GB/512GB.
Battery size suggests long sessions away from the charger
Power capacity is another major part of the story. The Oppo Pad 5 Pro is expected to carry a 13,380mAh battery, supported by 67W fast charging.
That battery is said to be larger than the one in the previous generation, indicating that Oppo wants this tablet to last longer during extended use. The size also fits the product’s positioning as a device for users who need a tablet that can stay active throughout the day.
Large-screen tablet, but still relatively slim
Even with that large battery, the Oppo Pad 5 Pro is said to remain reasonably slim. The reported thickness is around 5.94 mm, while the weight is listed at 672 grams.
For a 13.2-inch tablet, those figures remain within a practical range. Oppo appears to be trying to balance endurance with portability, so the device can still be comfortably managed during longer sessions.
Audio and cameras are tuned for everyday use
The tablet is also expected to include eight speakers, which should help create a more immersive experience for movies, music, and games. That kind of setup usually plays a bigger role in multimedia use than in basic productivity.
Cameras, meanwhile, appear to be kept simple. The rear camera is said to be 13MP, while the front camera is 8MP, making the setup more suitable for video calls, online meetings, and casual snapshots than for advanced photography.
Oppo is also expected to launch another tablet alongside the Pad 5 Pro in China, namely the Oppo Pad Mini. Together, the two models suggest a split strategy from the company, with the Pad 5 Pro serving users who want a premium large-screen tablet and the Pad Mini targeting those who prefer a more compact device.
