Motorola Edge 70 Pro Combines IP69 and MIL-STD 810H Durability, Midrange Pricing Near Rp7 Million

Motorola’s Edge 70 Pro is designed to stand out in the mid-premium segment not only through its specifications, but also through its durability claims. The phone carries IP69 protection and MIL-STD 810H certification, a combination that is still relatively uncommon at this price level.

That positioning gives the Edge 70 Pro a clear identity in Motorola’s Edge 70 Series. It targets users who want strong performance, a large display, capable cameras, and a body built to handle tougher conditions without moving into full flagship territory.

Durability becomes the main selling point

The strongest headline feature is its resistance to dust, water, shock, and extreme temperatures. Motorola says the device has passed MIL-STD 810H testing, which covers exposure to heat, cold, dust, and impacts.

Alongside that, the phone also brings IP68 and IP69 certification. For users who often move between indoor and outdoor environments, or who need a handset that feels more prepared for rougher use, this level of protection is a notable advantage.

Performance is backed by a faster chipset and large memory

Under the hood, the Edge 70 Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme. Motorola positions it as an upgraded version of the standard Dimensity 8500, aiming to deliver stronger performance in its class.

The chipset is paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. That setup is intended to support smoother multitasking, quicker app loading, and faster data transfers when handling heavy files or demanding apps.

A large pOLED display with a high refresh rate

On the front, Motorola uses a 6.8-inch pOLED panel with 1.5K resolution. The display also supports a 144Hz refresh rate, which helps motion look smoother during scrolling and gaming.

Motorola claims the screen can reach up to 5,200 nits of brightness, making it easier to read under direct sunlight. The panel also carries Pantone certification for color accuracy, while the fingerprint sensor sits under the display to keep the front design clean.

Three 50 MP cameras cover daily needs

Camera hardware is another area where Motorola avoids cutting corners. The rear setup includes a 50 MP Sony Lytia 710 main camera with OIS, which helps reduce blur and improve stability in photos and video.

It is joined by a 50 MP ultrawide camera that can also be used for close-up macro shots. On the front, a 50 MP selfie camera supports video recording up to 4K, giving the phone a consistent 50 MP theme across all sides.

Battery and software round out the package

Power comes from a 6,500 mAh battery, which Motorola expects to support longer use on a single charge. The phone also supports 90W wired fast charging and 5W reverse wired charging.

Out of the box, the Edge 70 Pro runs Android 16. Motorola also promises three major Android version upgrades and security updates for up to five years, adding longer-term value for buyers who plan to keep the device for a while.

Price and color options

In India, the Edge 70 Pro is available in Lily White, Titan, and Tea. The 8/256GB model is priced at 38,999 rupee, while the 12/256GB version costs 41,999 rupee.

At those levels, the phone sits in a competitive position for a device with a 144Hz display, a 6,500 mAh battery, 50 MP cameras, and IP69 protection. Attention now shifts to whether Motorola will eventually bring the model to the Indonesian market, where interest in the brand remains strong.
