OnePlus has taken a more specialized approach with the Ace 6 Ultra by positioning it as a gaming-first phone rather than a general-purpose flagship. What makes it stand out is not only the hardware inside the device, but also the option to pair it with a separate gaming controller that changes how the phone can be used.
This accessory-driven direction gives the Ace 6 Ultra a different identity from most high-performance smartphones. Instead of relying solely on touch controls, OnePlus is building an ecosystem around the device for players who want more precise input during gaming sessions.
Built for sustained performance
At the center of the Ace 6 Ultra is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, which is manufactured using TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process. OnePlus says the chip uses an all-big-core CPU architecture and delivers 32 percent higher performance while reducing power consumption by 55 percent compared with the previous generation.
That kind of improvement signals a clear goal: strong output without pushing energy use too far. For users who plan to run demanding games for long periods, that balance matters just as much as raw speed.
To support the chipset under heavy load, OnePlus adds the Wind Chaser Gaming Kernel at the system level. The phone also includes the Glacier Cooling System and a 6000mm² vapor chamber, both intended to help keep temperatures under control when the device is working hard.
Controller support changes the gaming experience
The most distinctive part of the Ace 6 Ultra is its optional Strix Gaming Controller. Unlike conventional mobile controllers, this accessory uses a joystick-free design and focuses on mechanical trigger buttons with a 1.8 ms response time.
OnePlus also says the controller includes a dedicated esports chip. In addition, it supports a magnetic cooling module that can be attached to improve comfort during longer gaming sessions.
This approach shows that the Ace 6 Ultra is not being presented as a phone with gaming-friendly specs alone. It is being framed as part of a wider gaming setup, with external hardware that can expand how the device is controlled.
Display support for fast input and smooth motion
The front side of the phone carries a 6.78-inch LTPS OLED panel from BOE. It offers 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, two specifications that fit well with competitive gaming and smoother visual output.
The display also supports instantaneous touch sampling of up to 4000Hz. That level of responsiveness can help reduce input delay, while the peak brightness support adds better visibility in different usage conditions.
For a handset designed with gaming in mind, the screen is a key part of the package. OnePlus appears to have focused on making sure the experience stays responsive not only in processing power, but also in touch and display behavior.
Large battery and fast charging
Power delivery is another area where the Ace 6 Ultra is heavily equipped. The phone uses a dual-cell 8600mAh battery, which is unusually large for a performance-oriented device.
To match that capacity, OnePlus pairs the phone with 120W wired fast charging. The device also supports several fast-charging standards, although the full list was not detailed in the launch materials.
On the software side, the Ace 6 Ultra runs Android 16 with ColorOS 16. It also comes with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, both of which help contribute to faster data access and a more responsive system.
Camera and design stay practical
Compared with its gaming emphasis, the camera setup is relatively straightforward. The rear side includes a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP front camera.
That layout suggests photography is not the main selling point of the device, although the inclusion of OIS on the main camera still adds practical value for everyday shots and steadier recording. It keeps the phone usable beyond gaming without shifting focus away from its primary purpose.
The design follows the same functional logic. The phone uses a metal frame with large rounded corners and a flat cube-style camera module. Color options include Ace Awakening and Metal Storm, while dust and water protection is covered by IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.
Pricing and configuration options
OnePlus offers the Ace 6 Ultra in several memory and storage combinations. The lineup includes 12GB + 256GB for ¥3499, 16GB + 256GB for ¥3799, 12GB + 512GB for ¥4099, 16GB + 512GB for ¥4399, and 16GB + 1TB for ¥5099.
The Strix Gaming Controller is sold separately at around $65. That separate pricing reinforces the way OnePlus is presenting the Ace 6 Ultra: not just as a fast phone, but as a gaming device that can be expanded with dedicated accessories.
