Huawei has officially started selling the Mate 80 Pro in Indonesia, positioning the flagship for professionals and users who need a phone that can keep up with an active routine. The device is available for pre-order starting 24 April 2026, with a price tag of Rp16.999.000.
Rather than relying on specifications alone, Huawei is pushing a combination of imaging quality, physical durability, and AI-powered convenience. That mix is meant to make the Mate 80 Pro feel like a premium device built for both demanding workdays and everyday use.
True-to-Colour Camera 2.0 takes the spotlight
The strongest sales point on the Mate 80 Pro is its True-to-Colour Camera 2.0 system. Huawei says the feature is designed to deliver colors that look more natural and accurate, which remains one of the main reasons many buyers still look at flagship phones in the first place.
The rear camera setup is built around a 50MP Ultra Lighting Camera with an F1.4 to F4.0 variable aperture. It also comes with OIS, helping keep both photos and videos steady in different shooting conditions.
Huawei also includes a 48MP Macro Telephoto lens for closer detail work. For wider scenes, the phone carries a 40MP ultra-wide camera that is useful for landscapes, architecture, and moments that need a broader field of view.
Taken together, the three sensors give the Mate 80 Pro a flexible camera setup. Users can switch between close-up shots, portraits, and wide-angle captures without needing extra accessories.
Built to handle daily movement and accidental wear
Huawei also highlights durability as a major part of the Mate 80 Pro’s premium appeal. The phone uses Super Durable Architecture and 2nd Gen Kunlun Glass on its 6.75-inch display.
The company claims the glass is up to 20 times stronger than standard glass. The body is further reinforced with Vegan Fibre, which is intended to help the device better withstand everyday impact.
Protection extends beyond physical construction. The Mate 80 Pro carries IP68 and IP69 certification, meaning it is designed to handle dust, water, and high-pressure liquid spray.
AI functions are aimed at photos and productivity
On the software side, Huawei adds several AI-based tools meant to make daily use easier. AI Composition and AI Remove are available to support photo editing tasks, while AI Gesture allows certain commands to be carried out without touch input.
For communication, AI Messaging is designed to improve efficiency in routine use. All of these smart functions can be accessed through AI Smart Control, which opens when the user double taps the lock button.
Large battery with fast charging support
The Mate 80 Pro is equipped with a 5,750mAh battery to support heavy use throughout the day. Huawei pairs that capacity with 100W Wired SuperCharge for fast wired charging.
Users also get 80W Wireless SuperCharge as a high-speed wireless option. The battery and charging combination makes the device more suitable for people who need a phone that can return to use quickly.
Launch offers add extra value
During the first-sale period through 24 May 2026, Huawei is offering a package of benefits worth up to Rp7.5 million. The promotion is intended to make early purchase more attractive for buyers who want to secure the phone at launch.
The benefits include Premium Service, one free battery replacement within five years, and two years of screen damage protection. With its color-focused camera system, durable build, AI functions, large battery, and charging support, the Mate 80 Pro is positioned as a flagship aimed at users who want a practical premium phone for both work and mobility.
