Samsung is reportedly preparing One UI 9 as the next major step in its software line, and the update is expected to run on Android 16. The early details point to a bigger visual refresh, tighter AI integration, and a more cinematic feel across the interface.
The upgrade is also being framed as one of Samsung’s most ambitious UI changes so far. Based on the current leak, users can expect a beta phase in the third quarter of 2026, while the stable release may reach flagship devices in late October or early November 2026.
A more fluid and cinematic interface
One of the clearest themes around One UI 9 is motion design. Samsung is said to be working on new animations that feel smoother and more seamless, with transitions that resemble high frame-rate cinematic movement.
That direction suggests Samsung wants to reduce the gap between hardware and software. Instead of making the interface feel like a separate layer, the new design is expected to make navigation feel more natural and visually consistent.
Galaxy AI 3.0 may play a bigger role
The most discussed feature is Galaxy AI 3.0. In the current leak, the AI system is expected to move beyond the role of a simple assistant and become more proactive in daily use.
A feature described as “Contextual Deep Learning” could allow the phone to adjust itself based on user habits. That includes screen brightness adapting to mood, along with apps being arranged automatically according to daily priorities.
Camera and visual personalization updates
Samsung also appears to be focusing on creators and users who care about visual output. One rumored addition is “AI Director’s Grade,” which is said to process video in real time with film-like color grading directly from the stock camera app.
The personalization layer may also become more expressive. Google’s Material You is expected to blend with Samsung’s own color palette, while app icons may adopt a neo-glassmorphism look that adds more depth on Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays.
Galaxy devices expected to receive One UI 9
Samsung has not published an official rollout list, but the leak points to several devices that are likely to be prioritized. The lineup includes current and upcoming flagships, foldables, and selected mid-range models.
- Galaxy S series: Galaxy S26 series, Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S24 series, and Galaxy S23 series.
- Galaxy Z series: Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, plus Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6.
- Galaxy A series: Galaxy A57, A56, and selected Galaxy A37 models.
The Galaxy S26 series is expected to be the first device family to get One UI 9 pre-installed, following Samsung’s usual release pattern. That would make the series the earliest place to see the new software experience in full.
What users can expect before release
Even without an official roadmap, the timing in the leak gives a clear picture of Samsung’s next software phase. The beta program is expected to open in the third quarter of 2026, followed by a stable launch for flagship users toward the end of October or the start of November 2026.
For Galaxy owners in Indonesia, updates usually arrive gradually through Settings > Software Update. If the current information proves accurate, One UI 9 will not just be a routine Android skin refresh, but a broader move toward a more adaptive, visually richer, and AI-driven Samsung experience.
