Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro has arrived in Indonesia as a tablet built to do more than handle entertainment. With the Snapdragon 8 Elite at its core, the device enters the flagship class and clearly targets users who want high performance in a body that stays compact and easy to carry.
That positioning becomes more interesting because Xiaomi is not selling the tablet as a standalone screen. For certain variants, the company includes the Stylus Focus Pen Pro and Keyboard Case in the box, turning the device into a more complete productivity package from the start.
A tablet that moves closer to laptop use
Xiaomi is pitching the Pad 8 Pro as a device that can handle work in a more serious way than a typical Android tablet. The tablet starts at Rp9,5 jutaan, while the official accessories sold separately are said to reach around Rp2 jutaan.
That pricing helps explain the strategy. Xiaomi is not only aiming at users who want a larger display for streaming or gaming, but also at those who need a lighter alternative for productivity tasks.
The company places special emphasis on work mode, pen input, and keyboard support as central parts of the experience. That makes the Pad 8 Pro feel less like a media-only tablet and more like a portable work machine.
Thin metal body, still light with accessories attached
The chassis uses a metal unibody design that gives the tablet a clean and slim appearance. Thickness is limited to 5.8 mm, while the tablet itself weighs 485 grams.
Once the keyboard and stylus are attached, the total weight rises to 820 grams. Even then, Xiaomi says it remains far lighter than the lightest laptops sold in Indonesia.
Connectivity also supports that flexible use case. The tablet includes USB-C 3.2 Gen 1, and the port supports Display Output to an external monitor for a more desk-friendly setup.
An 11-inch display tuned for work and media
On the front, Xiaomi uses an 11-inch IPS panel with 3.2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. That combination is designed to keep text sharp and motion smooth, whether the tablet is being used for documents or entertainment.
Peak brightness reaches 765 nits, which comes close to the claimed 800 nits. Xiaomi also tunes the panel to 100% sRGB, making it more relevant for users who care about color accuracy while editing content.
HyperOS 3 and workstation tools
The tablet runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. One of its main features is Workstation Mode, which changes the interface into a layout that looks more like Windows.
In that mode, users can open up to four apps at the same time in floating windows. Xiaomi also bundles the PC version of WPS Office, complete with multi-tab support, pivot table functions, and automatic table of contents features for long documents such as theses.
For writing and drawing, the Focus Pen Pro supports 16,384 pressure levels and includes haptic feedback. Xiaomi designed it to make note-taking and sketching feel closer to writing on paper.
Flagship performance, large battery, and a few limits
The Snapdragon 8 Elite is the main performance highlight of the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro in Indonesia. Xiaomi says its AnTuTu 11 score goes beyond 3 million, placing it among the fastest Android tablets available.
In gaming tests, demanding titles such as Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves are said to run at max settings with 60 FPS. Xiaomi also claims the back panel temperature stays controlled, with a maximum of 37 degrees Celsius.
Memory options go up to 12/512 GB, giving plenty of space for multitasking, large work files, and longer-term use. Power comes from a 9,200 mAh battery, with Xiaomi claiming up to 24.5 hours of video playback and 0-50% charging in 29 minutes using the 67W charger.
There are still a few points for buyers to note. The speakers are said to be less impressive for a flagship device, and bypass charging is not available. Even so, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro stands out as a serious Android tablet for creators, students, and professionals who want something lightweight but powerful.
