Motorola’s Moto g47 arrives as a midrange phone that tries to win attention through balance rather than a single headline feature. The device combines a 108 MP main camera, a 120 Hz display, and a larger battery than its predecessor, while still keeping practical extras that many users continue to value.
That combination places the Moto g47 in a familiar but competitive part of the market. Motorola is clearly aiming at buyers who want modern specs without losing the everyday conveniences that still matter in daily use.
A camera setup built around the main sensor
The most prominent upgrade is the 108 MP rear camera. Motorola pairs it with OIS, 3x lossless zoom, and its Ultra Pixel imaging algorithm, which gives the phone a more ambitious photography profile than a basic refresh would suggest.
The rest of the rear setup stays modest but functional. The phone also includes a 2 MP macro camera and a 2-in-1 ambient light sensor, reinforcing that the main focus is on the primary camera experience.
A display designed for smooth daily use
On the front, the Moto g47 uses a 6.67-inch IPS LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution. It supports a 120 Hz refresh rate and reaches a peak brightness of up to 1,050 nits.
Motorola also protects the screen with Gorilla Glass 7i. That should help the display feel better suited to everyday use, especially for scrolling, outdoor visibility, and general durability.
Performance, storage, and expansion options
Power comes from the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. Motorola combines it with 4 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
The phone also supports virtual RAM expansion of up to 8 GB. For users who need more room, there is a microSD slot with support for up to 1 TB, making the device more flexible than many rivals that rely only on fixed internal storage.
Bigger battery, familiar essentials
The battery has been increased to 5,200 mAh, and charging is handled through 18W fast charging over USB-C. That larger capacity is one of the clearest signs that Motorola wants the Moto g47 to feel more capable in daily use than its predecessor.
Motorola has also kept the 3.5 mm headphone jack. In a market where many new phones leave that port behind, its presence still matters for users who prefer wired earphones.
Connectivity is fairly complete as well. The Moto g47 supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, dual SIM 5G, GPS, NFC, and USB-C 2.0.
Durability and software finish the package
Motorola has given the Moto g47 IP64 protection and MIL-STD 810H certification. IP64 offers resistance against dust and splashes, while the military-grade standard points to a tougher build approach for heavier daily use.
On the software side, the phone runs MyUX based on Android 16. Motorola says this interface is simpler than HelloUI used on the Moto Razr and Edge lines, which may appeal to users who prefer a cleaner experience.
First launch in Europe
Motorola has confirmed that the Moto g47 will go on sale in Europe first. Official pricing has not been announced yet, and the phone will be offered in Pantone Fuchsia Red, Pantone Nautical Blue, and Pantone Impenetrable.
With its 108 MP camera, 120 Hz display, 5,200 mAh battery, and practical touches such as NFC and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, the Moto g47 is positioned as a well-rounded midrange option with a clear focus on useful features.
