Samsung’s next big foldable showcase could look very different from the ones that came before it. Instead of centering on a single headline device, the company is reportedly preparing a broader summer Unpacked lineup that may include up to four foldable products.
The most closely watched addition is a new format being discussed as Wide Fold. Samsung has not confirmed the event yet, but the company’s usual launch pattern suggests that invitations often arrive two to three weeks before the show, pointing to a possible announcement in June or July.
A summer stage that may stretch beyond one launch
Samsung has not released an official date or time for its next Galaxy Unpacked event. Even so, Korea Economic Times has pointed to a possible London event on 22 July, which would make an official confirmation likely only in early July.
That location would stand out because Samsung usually holds Unpacked in Korea or the United States. A London venue would mark a noticeable break from the company’s typical playbook.
How the event is expected to be shared live
Samsung has not yet said how the event will be streamed, but its past launches offer a clear pattern. Unpacked presentations are usually shown live on the company’s official YouTube channel, alongside coverage on the newsroom page and real-time press materials.
The company also tends to keep its social media channels active during the keynote. For those planning ahead, Samsung typically opens pre-registration before the event and often includes calendar invites, early pre-order access, and voucher-style benefits.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 is still expected to lead the lineup
If Samsung follows its usual structure, Galaxy Z Fold 8 is likely to be the main device on stage. The phone is expected to continue the design direction of Galaxy Z Fold 7, with a wider, thinner, and lighter build.
More visible changes may come from the frame and display mechanics. Reports point to flatter, cleaner edges and a less noticeable crease when the device is opened, while the hinge and folding display are also expected to see refinement.
On the hardware side, the device is rumored to keep a 5,000mAh battery and 45W fast charging. It is also expected to use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Galaxy Z Flip 8 and the FE version remain in the picture
Galaxy Z Flip 8 is also expected to be part of the summer launch. Major design changes are not anticipated, although the phone is said to feel slightly slimmer when opened.
For the chipset, the Flip 8 is reportedly set to use Exynos 2600. Samsung is also said to be considering a Galaxy Z Flip 8 FE, aimed at offering a similar foldable experience at a more accessible price point.
Wide Fold is the most unusual part of the rumor set
The biggest attention, however, is going to the new Wide Fold format. Samsung is said to be preparing it as a response to Apple’s expected entry into the foldable market in 2026.
The device is described as shorter but wider, with a broader cover display. When unfolded, it is said to use a 4:3 aspect ratio that feels closer to a tablet layout.
Leaked specifications point to a 5.4-inch cover display, a 7.6-inch inner screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite, a 4,800mAh battery, and a dual-camera setup. It is also expected to receive the same improved crease treatment seen on Samsung’s other foldables this year.
The main challenge may come from daily use. A wider front screen could make one-handed operation less comfortable when the device is closed.
Wearables may share the spotlight
Samsung often uses its summer Unpacked events to introduce new wearables as well. Galaxy Watch 9 is said to have a chance of appearing alongside the foldables, although no major upgrade has been reported for the watch so far.
Android Central says it will be on site for live coverage, including a live blog during the keynote. Once Samsung confirms the schedule, the company’s usual mix of livestreams, newsroom updates, and social posts is expected to carry the announcements in real time.
