Nubia Neo 5 Series Pre-Orders Come With Mystery Box Rewards, Including 99 Units of 2-Gram Gold

Nubia is turning the launch of the Neo 5 Series in Indonesia into more than a routine smartphone preorder. Buyers who place an order during the limited window will receive a Mystery Box, and 99 of those boxes are tied to a chance of winning a 2-gram physical gold prize.

The preorder period runs from 16 to 24 May 2026, and every purchase made in that timeframe will include the Mystery Box. Nubia is using the promotion as part of the product introduction, making the buying process feel more interactive for consumers.

The contents of the box are not limited to gold. Nubia has also prepared additional surprises that may include exclusive merchandise, a gaming pad, a fan cooling accessory, and even a DJI drone, although the drone is still marked as tentative.

The company says the concept is meant to make the experience of getting a new device more exciting. That approach also matches the audience Nubia is targeting with the Neo line, especially mobile gaming users who tend to respond to novelty and extra value.

Nubia is also preparing an open launch event for the public. The event is intended to let gamers and tech enthusiasts experience the atmosphere of the device introduction directly, rather than relying only on online sales channels.

A gaming-focused lineup

The Neo 5 Series continues Nubia’s global positioning of the Neo family as a compact gaming-oriented offering. The brand previously introduced the Neo 5 5G and Neo 5 GT with a “Redmagic mini” concept that emphasizes gaming performance, cooling, and competitive control features.

One of the key elements in the series is Neo Triggers 5.0, which offers a sampling rate of up to 550Hz. Nubia also includes Game Space 5.0 and AI-based optimization to support mobile gaming use.

Neo 5 5G: the more balanced option

The Neo 5 5G is positioned as the standard model that aims to balance performance and affordability. It uses a 6.8-inch IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution of 900 x 1940 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Performance comes from the Unisoc T9300 6 nm chipset, paired with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The storage can still be expanded via microSD, giving users extra flexibility.

Heat management is another major selling point. Nubia says the cooling area reaches 20,000 mm², which is intended to help keep temperatures under control during long gaming sessions.

Battery capacity stands at 6050 mAh, with 45W fast charging support. On the camera side, the phone carries a 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a 16 MP front camera.

The device also uses a flat body design. That shape is meant to improve comfort during longer use and support horizontal gaming grips that require steadier handling.

Neo 5 GT: the higher-performance variant

For users who want more power, Nubia offers the Neo 5 GT. This version brings upgrades across several areas, including the display, chipset, memory options, and cooling system.

Its 6.8-inch AMOLED display has a 1.5K resolution of 1224 x 2720 pixels, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of up to 4500 nits. Nubia also highlights a responsive touch sampling rate for faster interaction during gaming.

The Neo 5 GT is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 4 nm chipset. It is available with up to 12 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB.

Cooling is one of the most notable differences. Nubia says the Neo 5 GT includes an internal cooling fan that is first in its class, combined with a wide cooling system to help maintain performance under heavy load.

Its battery capacity reaches 6210 mAh and supports 80W fast charging. The phone also includes bypass charging, which can help reduce battery strain and heat during longer gaming sessions.

On the back, the Neo 5 GT keeps a 50 MP main camera with PDAF. It also uses a flat design without a camera bump, which makes it easier to hold in horizontal orientation while gaming.

Nubia adds Neo Triggers 5.0, RGB lighting, and AI optimization to this model as well. Together, those features reinforce its role as the more serious gaming choice in the Neo 5 Series.

Preorder details

The Neo 5 Series preorder is handled through Nubia’s official stores across e-commerce platforms in Indonesia. During the 16-24 May 2026 period, every buyer is eligible for the Mystery Box campaign tied to the launch.

By combining a new gaming smartphone lineup with physical gold prizes and gaming accessories, Nubia is aiming to make the preorder feel more like an event. The strategy is clearly built around the habits and interests of the mobile gaming community.
