Osmo Pocket 4P Adds a 3x Telephoto Lens, DJI’s Compact Camera Gets a Clear Upgrade

DJI’s latest teaser has put the Osmo Pocket 4P in the spotlight for one clear reason: it adds a telephoto camera. That single change immediately separates it from the regular Osmo Pocket 4 and gives the compact creator camera a more ambitious profile.

The reveal came through a short video on DJI’s global YouTube channel. In the teaser, the device is shown from several angles, and the dual-camera setup is made visible enough to confirm that DJI is moving beyond the standard single-camera approach for this model.

A telephoto lens that changes the formula

The biggest talking point is the second camera. DJI shows that the added lens is a telephoto unit with up to 3x optical zoom, which is the key feature that makes the Osmo Pocket 4P stand out.

That addition gives the device a different purpose from the standard version. A telephoto lens makes it easier to capture subjects from farther away while keeping more detail in frame, expanding how the camera can be used in everyday recording.

What remains from the regular model

The main camera is expected to stay close to the Osmo Pocket 4’s hardware. DJI is said to keep using a 1-inch sensor, a size long associated with stronger image quality on compact devices.

That choice matters because it keeps the Pocket line anchored in portability without giving up the image pipeline that users expect from a higher-end pocket camera. Combined with the telephoto lens, the Osmo Pocket 4P is being positioned as a more serious option for creators who need more framing flexibility.

A clearer direction for the Pocket line

DJI also attaches a specific tagline to the device: “See More. Tell More.” The wording points directly to the product direction, with an emphasis on seeing farther and capturing more detail.

Rather than simply adding another camera for the sake of it, the dual-camera setup appears aimed at widening the device’s shooting options. That approach could make the Pocket series more relevant for users who want a compact tool with a broader range of compositions.

Launch timing and what is still unknown

DJI has not disclosed the full official specifications of the Osmo Pocket 4P yet. Even so, the teaser strongly suggests that a global launch is approaching.

One of the biggest unanswered questions is price. The added telephoto system means buyers will likely compare it closely with the regular Osmo Pocket 4, but DJI has not revealed how large the price gap will be.

For now, the Osmo Pocket 4P stands out as a compact camera built around a familiar 1-inch main sensor and a new 3x telephoto lens. That combination gives DJI a way to push the Pocket series toward more flexible shooting without abandoning the small form factor that defines the line.
