A new leak has put the Vivo S60 in the spotlight, and the most eye-catching detail is not the design. It is the reported combination of a 7,000mAh-class battery and a periscope telephoto camera, two features that are still uncommon together in the mid-range segment.
According to Digital Chat Station, the phone is expected to launch in China this month. The timing places the Vivo S60 in a crowded wave of camera-focused Chinese smartphones, alongside the Honor 600 series and the Oppo Reno 16 series.
A compact screen with a premium look
For the standard model, the Vivo S60 is said to feature a 6.59-inch display with 1.5K resolution. The panel is also described as using large curved corners and a centered front camera, which gives the device a modern appearance while keeping the body compact.
That design direction suggests Vivo is aiming for a phone that feels premium without becoming oversized. It also fits the wider trend of mid-range devices trying to balance sleek styling with practical handling.
Snapdragon 8s-series performance
Inside, the Vivo S60 is reportedly powered by a Snapdragon 8s-series chipset. That would mark an upgrade over the Vivo S50, which used the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
The shift points to a stronger performance package for the next generation. While the leak does not specify the exact chip, it signals that Vivo wants the new model to bring more processing headroom to its mid-range lineup.
Battery life appears to be the biggest selling point
The most talked-about detail is the battery, which is said to be around 7,000mAh. That capacity is paired with 90W fast charging, creating a combination that should appeal to users who value long runtime and quick top-ups.
If this information holds, the Vivo S60 will stand out in the mid-range class for endurance rather than relying only on styling and camera branding. In a market where many phones compete on thin designs, this battery size would give Vivo a clear differentiator.
Periscope camera support could be the real twist
On the back, the Vivo S60 is said to use a large horizontal camera module. Inside that setup, the phone is rumored to include a mid-range periscope telephoto sensor from Sony’s IMX8 series.
That is one of the most notable parts of the leak, because periscope cameras remain relatively rare in this segment. Vivo has also been positioning the S series around imaging, including previous mentions of a telephoto extender accessory.
Other premium touches are also mentioned
The leaked information does not stop at battery and camera hardware. The Vivo S60 is also said to use a metal frame, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance.
Another reported addition is magnetic accessory support through a special case. A technical prototype is also said to have appeared in a bright pink color, while the phone is reportedly planned in collaboration with a well-known Chinese anime IP.
A smaller sibling may join the lineup
The Vivo S60 may not arrive alone. A Vivo S60 Pro Mini is also said to be in development, following the compact format used by the previous generation.
For context, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini was reportedly rebranded as the Vivo X300 FE in overseas markets. If that pattern continues, the Vivo S60 Pro Mini could later appear as the Vivo X500 FE in the first half of 2027.
