Huawei’s latest Watch FIT 5 series arrives in Indonesia with a clear message: health tracking is now the main selling point. The standout model is the Watch FIT 5 Pro, which introduces wrist-based diabetes risk monitoring alongside ECG and other advanced health tools.
Huawei says the feature is presented as the first Diabetes Risk Study in Indonesia. It uses photoplethysmography, or PPG, to track micro blood-flow changes continuously for 3 to 14 days, both day and night, before combining the results with user data such as age, weight, height, and gender.
The system then classifies the risk into three levels: low, medium, or high. Huawei says the technology was developed with several institutions and hospitals in China and Dubai to strengthen validation of the approach.
Health features beyond diabetes monitoring
The Watch FIT 5 Pro does not rely on a single health function. It also includes CE-certified ECG, designed to read the heart’s electrical activity with better accuracy.
Huawei has added Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis, HRV monitoring, emotional wellbeing tracking, and advanced sleep tracking. Together, those tools position the smartwatch as a preventive health device rather than just a daily accessory.
A more premium design and brighter display
The Pro model also gets a more premium build. It comes with a 1.92-inch AMOLED display, an 83 percent screen-to-body ratio, and brightness of up to 3,000 nits.
Huawei uses a titanium case and 2.5D sapphire glass on the Pro version. The company also claims durability has improved by up to 130 percent thanks to ceramic coating and micro arc oxidation.
The standard Watch FIT 5 uses a smaller 1.82-inch AMOLED panel. It weighs 27 grams and offers brightness of up to 2,500 nits, with a 7000 series aluminium alloy body and 2.5D tempered curved glass.
Both models support customizable watch faces, allowing users to adjust the look to fit personal style.
Built for exercise, outdoor use, and route tracking
Huawei is also targeting active users with more than 100 sports modes across the series. For location tracking, the watch relies on the Sunflower Positioning System and dual-band GPS with six satellites.
The Watch FIT 5 Pro adds Ultra-Sport features for outdoor activities such as golf, hiking, freediving down to 40 meters, and diving. Huawei also includes more than 17,000 global golf course maps, offline maps, trail run checkpoints, and ETA estimates for reaching checkpoints.
Runners get scientific metrics such as running power and Running Ability Index. Cyclists can access virtual power and cadence data in real time, while all sports data can be synced to Strava.
Huawei also adds modes for tennis, badminton, and padel, including analysis of stroke type and swing intensity.
Battery life, connectivity, and local payment support
Huawei says the Watch FIT 5 series can last up to 10 days under normal use. For intensive activities such as trail running, the device is rated for up to 21 hours.
Other features include Bluetooth calling, message notifications, and storage of up to 64GB. The series is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.
For Indonesia, Huawei also includes LinkAja QR Payment, which can be used at modern merchants such as Indomaret, Alfamart, and other QRIS CPM networks.
The Watch FIT 5 series goes on sale from 21 May to 20 June 2026. The Watch FIT 5 starts at Rp2,399,000, while the Watch FIT 5 Pro starts at Rp3,699,000.
During the sales period, buyers can receive a Huawei FreeBuds SE 3, Huawei Health+ membership, and Huawei Watch Face VIP access. The devices will be sold through Huawei Indonesia and retail platforms including Shopee, Tokopedia, TikTok Shop, Blibli, Lazada, Erafone, and Eraspace.
