RedMagic has taken another aggressive step in the gaming phone race with the launch of the RedMagic 11S Pro and RedMagic 11S Pro Plus in China. The main attraction is not a software trick, but an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Leading Version that pushes the line’s performance identity even further.
The chip’s boosted main CPU core reaches up to 4.74 GHz. That makes the series stand out as a device family built for heavy workloads, especially competitive gaming and long play sessions.
Performance first, from the silicon up
RedMagic’s approach here is different from many other gaming phones. Instead of relying mainly on performance modes and tuning, the company has moved the focus to core hardware so the device can deliver stronger power from the start.
That strategy also helps explain why the 11S Pro series is being positioned as more than a routine refresh. The chipset upgrade sits at the center of the story, while cooling, battery life, and charging complete the rest of the package.
Two models, two charging paths
The standard RedMagic 11S Pro comes with an 8,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is larger than the 7,500 mAh cell used in the previous generation. Even with that bigger battery, fast charging stays at 80W.
The RedMagic 11S Pro Plus takes a different route with a 7,500 mAh battery, 120W wired fast charging, and 80W wireless charging. For users who want more flexibility in how they power the phone, the Plus model offers the broader charging setup.
Both models also support bypass charging. That allows power to go directly to the system instead of first charging the battery, which is useful during extended gaming sessions.
Cooling and controls built for long sessions
Thermal management is another major part of the Plus model’s pitch. RedMagic combines a physical fan spinning at 24,000 RPM with liquid cooling to help keep temperatures under control during intense gaming.
The series also keeps gaming-focused hardware that still matters to competitive players. Capacitive shoulder triggers remain on board, with a 520 Hz touch sampling rate for faster response in games.
A 3.5 mm audio jack is still included as well. For wired headset users, that remains a practical feature, especially in gaming use cases.
Display and under-screen hardware
Both phones use a 6.85-inch BOE X10 AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness goes up to 2,000 nits, giving the display a specification set aimed squarely at premium gaming use.
RedMagic also places a 16P under-display selfie camera beneath the panel. In the same area, the device uses an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
Memory, software, and protection
The RedMagic 11S Pro ships with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The RedMagic 11S Pro Plus moves higher with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Both devices run RedMagic OS 11.5 based on Android 16. They also carry an IPX8 rating, with a claim of water resistance up to 3 meters under certain conditions.
Cameras and pricing in China
Even though this is a gaming-first lineup, RedMagic still includes a triple rear camera setup. The system consists of a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide camera, and a 2 MP macro camera.
In China, the RedMagic 11S Pro series is offered in SilverWing and Dark Night. The RedMagic 11S Pro starts at 5,499 yuan for the 12/256 GB variant, while the RedMagic 11S Pro Plus starts at 6,199 yuan for 12/256 GB and reaches 7,999 yuan for the 16 GB/1 TB version.
