Ariana Madix Pushes Back on Love Island USA Rigging Claims After Surprise Elimination

Ariana Madix is pushing back against claims that Love Island USA is rigged after viewers reacted to a surprise elimination on the show. The host responded directly to speculation after Caleb McDaniel and Sol Dean were not named among the top couples.

On Instagram, Ariana replied to a comment that accused the show of “messing up” after the Thursday, June 18 episode. She wrote, “Unfortunately, they were not in the top 4,” and also liked another comment noting that production cannot legally tamper with results.

Why fans were frustrated

The reaction intensified after Sol Dean and Gabriel Vasconcelos were dumped from the villa following a group vote. America had already selected its favorite couples, leaving the bottom three at risk before the remaining girls chose which guy would go home and vice versa.

The episode added to a season already marked by voting drama. Earlier this month, viewers hit glitches and saw a “network error” message after opening the Love Island app to vote.

How the vote drama unfolded

The official Instagram account first told fans to vote on which Islanders the new Bombshells — Sol, Jen and Caleb — should couple up with. When problems appeared, the show later posted an apology and said the team was actively working on the issue.

After the app crashed, the voting window was extended until 3 pm ET / 12pm PT on Wednesday, June 10. The show also reminded viewers that new episodes of Love Island USA air six days a week on Peacock, except Wednesdays.

Ariana has addressed rigging rumors before

This is not the first time Ariana has responded to accusations that the series is fixed. In June 2025, she told The Wrap, “You can have whatever opinions you want to have about the show itself, but I will tell you: Don’t you start making up conspiracies.”

She added, “I’m not a conspiracy theorist, so I’m the debunker,” and said it is difficult for Islanders to keep a plan hidden all the time because they are on camera almost constantly. Ariana also encouraged viewers to keep voting if they want their opinions to count in future eliminations.

Love Island USA continues to lean on audience participation, but the latest backlash shows how quickly voting results can spark suspicion when favorite Islanders do not survive the cut.
