Maple Leafs Add Jack Roslovic, and a Familiar U.S. Development Team Link

Jack Roslovic is moving on after a solid season in Edmonton and will now join the Maple Leafs on a two-year contract. The 29-year-old centre brings recent scoring production and another established NHL stop to Toronto.

Roslovic finished last season with 21 goals and 15 assists in 69 games for the Oilers. It was the latest step in a career that has already included the Winnipeg Jets, Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes.

A productive stretch at the right time

Roslovic has now posted back-to-back 20-goal seasons for the first time in his career. He also tied his career high with 22 goals for Carolina in 2024-25, giving Toronto a forward who has shown a steadier scoring touch lately.

His path to the Maple Leafs also includes a connection with captain Auston Matthews. The two played together at the U.S. National Development Team Program, adding a familiar tie to Roslovic’s next stop.

What Toronto is getting

Roslovic was selected by Winnipeg in the first round of the 2015 NHL Draft, and he has since built experience across several different rosters and roles. That mix of draft pedigree, recent scoring and team-to-team movement now lands him in Toronto for the next two seasons.

For the Maple Leafs, the signing adds a player who arrives with momentum and a past link to one of the team’s biggest stars. For Roslovic, it is another new chapter after a year that stood out more for production than for uncertainty.
