Landman Stars Land Big Pay Raises, But Billy Bob Thornton Already Has His Own Deal

Being part of a hit series is paying off in a major way for the original cast of Landman. The Paramount+ drama’s core players have negotiated significant salary bumps heading into Season 3, according to Deadline.

The biggest exception is Billy Bob Thornton, who already has a separate three-year deal with standard year-to-year increases. If the series reaches a fourth season, he would be back at the table for a new contract.

Demi Moore Matches Thornton’s Pay Level

Demi Moore also secured a new agreement this year after her original contract ran for two years, shorter than the norm. Her raise puts her in parity with Thornton next season, with both understood to be in the $740K-$770K per-episode range.

How The Rest Of The Cast Benefited

The other original series regulars renegotiated their long-term contracts, and several saw substantial jumps. Ali Larter took the longest to close, but she more than doubled her most recent salary and is now north of $350K an episode, while also landing a talent deal.

The remaining original regulars — Paulina Chavez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie and James Jordan — are believed to be below that range, but still landed major percentage bumps from a modest base. Deadline reported that their raises at least doubled their previous salaries.

Why The Negotiations Happened Now

Post-Season 2 renegotiations have become rare across television, usually reserved for the biggest hits and often delayed until later seasons. Landman qualifies as one of the platform’s biggest successes, which gave the cast enough leverage to revisit their deals earlier than usual.

The show’s Season 2 premiere drew 9.2 million streaming views in its first 48 hours, making it the most-watched premiere for an original series on Paramount+. The Season 2 finale climbed to 14.8 million views within two days, setting a platform record for an original series finale.

What Comes Next For Landman

The current cast list is also expanding. Season 2 added Sam Elliott and Andy Garcia to the main ensemble, giving the series even more star power going forward.

Production on Season 3 is scheduled to begin in late August in Fort Worth, Texas, as the series keeps building on its breakout run for Paramount+.
