Big Brother Moves Live Feeds to YouTube, But Only for Limited Windows

Big Brother is making a first for its live feeds this season: they will appear on YouTube. The catch is that they will not stay there around the clock, even though the show is still billed as a 24/7 experience.

Paramount says the feeds will be available on the Big Brother YouTube channel starting Friday, July 10 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. They will also run in full on Paramount+ and on Paramount’s Pluto FAST service.

What YouTube viewers should expect

According to Paramount, the YouTube version will only be available for “limited periods following each episode throughout the summer.” The company has not given more detail on how limited those windows will be, but Pluto is free for viewers who want another option.

The season 28 cast will be revealed live on YouTube at noon ET/9 a.m. PT today in what Paramount and CBS are calling the inaugural Big Brother: Broveal. During the livestream, host Julie Chen Moonves will open the door to the Big Brother: Time Trip-themed house.

The waiting room for the YouTube event is already open. That reveal comes ahead of the season 28 premiere, which launches on Thursday, July 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

A packed opening weekend for Big Brother

The premiere will be followed by the hourlong Big Brother: Unlocked on Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and the live feeds will go up after that. A 90-minute Sunday episode then closes out the opening weekend at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Paramount says the coming season will feature “the most original hours of programming in 25 years,” with 90-minute Wednesday episodes and a Friday-night Big Brother: Unlocked airing throughout the season.

Later this summer, Big Brother will also become the first primetime series to reach 1,000 original episodes. That milestone adds another marker to a season already built around new scheduling moves and a wider push across streaming platforms.
