The Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots have climbed to a combined estimated $1.06 billion after no ticket matched all the numbers in the latest drawings. That keeps the weekend jackpot chase alive, with both games now offering eye-catching top prizes.
Mega Millions is leading the surge with an estimated $604 million ahead of its Friday night drawing. Powerball follows at an estimated $457 million for Saturday night, according to Washington’s Lottery.
Where Washington Players Have Hit Big
Washington has already seen some notable wins tied to the games. A Mega Millions ticket worth $30,000 was sold July 3 at Greenlake Gas Stations, 7200 Aurora Ave. N in Seattle, while a Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold at the 7-Eleven at 3625 148th St. SW in Lynnwood.

Lottery officials said several other Washington players have landed large prizes in 2026, including one $100,000 Mega Millions prize, three $100,000 Powerball prizes, one $150,000 Powerball prize and one $250,000 Powerball prize. Washington’s Lottery also said tickets for both games are available at lottery retailers across the state.
What Changed In Mega Millions
Washington’s Lottery said changes introduced to Mega Millions in 2025 raised the starting jackpot to $50 million, improved the overall odds of winning, and added automatic multipliers ranging from 2x to 10x for all non-jackpot prizes. The game’s drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday, with ticket sales resuming at 8:01 p.m. after the 7:45 p.m. cutoff.
Powerball’s Weekend Schedule
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific. Ticket sales reopen at 6:46 p.m. after closing at 6:45 p.m. on drawing days.
Since 1982, Washington’s Lottery has generated more than $5.7 billion for state programs, making each rising jackpot part of a much larger stream of lottery money flowing back into public use.
