Topps is raising the stakes for Shohei Ohtani collectors with a one-of-one card built from two separate MVP seasons. The upcoming 2026 Topps Chrome Baseball release will include an autographed Back-to-Back Gold Logoman card featuring patches from Ohtani’s 2024 and 2025 MVP campaigns.
The card has the potential to challenge the most expensive Ohtani cards ever sold. A previous Ohtani Gold MLB Logoman autograph sold for $3 million in December 2025, setting his record price for any card at the time.
Two MVP seasons on one card
Ohtani’s card combines two gold MLB Logoman patches taken from jerseys worn during his consecutive MVP seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers. It also carries two signatures: his standard autograph near the 2024 patch and a Kanji signature near the 2025 patch.
Topps will also issue Back-to-Back Gold Logoman autograph cards for New York Yankees star Aaron Judge and Detroit Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal. Judge won consecutive MVP awards, while Skubal earned consecutive Cy Young awards.

Redemption cards for all three one-of-one cards will be inserted at random in packs of 2026 Topps Chrome Baseball. The release marks a rare overlap in baseball history, with consecutive MVP winners in both leagues at the same time.
Why the gold patches matter
Topps introduced Gold Logoman patch cards in Topps Chrome Baseball last year to recognize each league’s 2024 MVP, Rookie of the Year and Cy Young Award winners. Honorees wore gold-embellished versions of the silhouetted MLB logo patch on their jerseys during the following season.
The patches are especially distinct because standard Logoman patches generally match a team’s uniform colors. Gold versions stand apart visually, making the relics a direct marker of an award-winning season.
Fanatics Collectibles CEO Mike Mahan said the concept is designed to celebrate players “at their highest levels of achievement.” He said Topps intends to reserve the double-patch format for players with a back-to-back award-winning accomplishment.
A market already measured in millions

Goldin Auctions CEO Ken Goldin said the original solo Ohtani Gold Logoman will retain special importance as the first of its kind. But he said the two-season version may be viewed as the stronger Ohtani Logoman because it includes two gold patches and signatures in English and Kanji.
Mahan said Topps selected special games tied to each player’s achievements for the Back-to-Back cards. The design makes the cards dependent on a rare repeat-award scenario, turning the paired relics into a collectible tied to a generational accomplishment.
