Harlem Eubank Dominates Josh Wagner to Restore Family Pride at Brighton Centre
Harlem Eubank delivered a commanding performance with a clear points victory over Josh Wagner at the Brighton Centre. The 31-year-old boxer, cousin of Chris Eubank Jr., secured the win with judges scoring the fight 100-90, 99-91, and 100-90, showcasing his dominance throughout the bout.
Eubank’s unbeaten streak had been disrupted in his previous match, losing via technical decision after a clash of heads halted the contest in the seventh round. However, against Wagner, Eubank showed no signs of vulnerability and controlled the fight from the outset.
With impressive hand speed, Eubank used an effective jab to keep the Canadian challenger at bay during the early rounds. His nimble footwork allowed him to evade Wagner’s punches and systematically increase his pressure as the rounds progressed.
In the latter stages, Eubank intensified his attack, landing rapid combinations that visibly affected Wagner. Despite the sustained punishment in the final round, Wagner remained resilient, finishing the fight on his feet until the final bell.
Notably, Lewis Crocker, the newly crowned IBF welterweight world champion, was ringside at the Brighton Centre observing Eubank’s performance. This presence hints at the possibility of a significant future matchup for Eubank in the welterweight division.
Before the fight, Crocker expressed confidence in his own abilities, stating to Channel 5: "I back myself every time, I’m the champion, so I have to back myself every time." Eubank’s emphatic victory may well position him for a major challenge moving forward.
This result also serves as a positive counterpoint following the recent defeat of Chris Eubank Jr. against Conor Benn in their rematch. Harlem Eubank’s victory helps restore some pride for the Eubank family name in the boxing community.
