Former "Real Housewives of Potomac" Star Mia Thornton Arrested at Atlanta Airport

Mia Fields-Thornton, a former cast member of "The Real Housewives of Potomac," was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Atlanta police took her into custody after responding to a report from Customs and Border Protection about a wanted individual.

According to Fulton County Jail records, Thornton faces a felony charge of theft by taking. The charges stem from accusations that she stole furniture from a condo she was renting on Marietta Street in Atlanta. The management company of the condo reported that Thornton and a man named Jared McGriff abruptly vacated the unit overnight on October 28, allegedly removing several items including a television.

Police estimate the total value of the stolen furniture to be approximately $11,000. Body camera footage released by the Atlanta Police Department shows Thornton acknowledging that she was aware of the outstanding warrant for her arrest at the time of detention.

Thornton joined "The Real Housewives of Potomac" starting in its sixth season and publicly announced her relocation to Atlanta in April. She also confirmed that she would not be returning to the reality television series.

This incident has drawn media attention due to Thornton’s public profile as a reality TV personality. Authorities continue to investigate the case, and further legal proceedings are expected. Meanwhile, Thornton remains in custody at Fulton County Jail as her case progresses.
