Mary Robichaux, a former state representative, won the Roswell mayoral runoff, defeating incumbent Kurt Wilson. Wilson conceded after Robichaux secured over 58% of the vote, signaling a clear shift in the city’s leadership.

Robichaux has lived in Roswell for more than three decades. She emphasized her healthcare background and strong community ties as key assets to addressing residents’ concerns. She told 11Alive, “Progress is always good, but it needs to be progress that fits the city and what the citizens want.”

The initial election on November 4th was close, with only 185 votes separating the two candidates and no one achieving a majority. This narrow margin forced the runoff, which ultimately favored Robichaux despite Wilson’s endorsement from Governor Brian Kemp.

Both candidates shared goals to promote intentional growth, increase high-paying jobs, and maintain Roswell’s family-oriented character. Wilson aimed to attract aerospace and low-footprint jobs, focusing on affordability in single-family homes. Robichaux preferred to encourage light manufacturing and healthcare-related employment, alongside addressing affordable housing challenges.
