Ole Miss Football Secures Key Staffer From SEC Rival During College Football Playoff Push

The Ole Miss Rebels have secured a pivotal addition to their football staff by re-hiring Kelvin Bolden. Bolden returns to Ole Miss after a one-season tenure as Assistant General Manager at LSU.

Bolden initially worked with Ole Miss as Coordinator of Recruiting Strategy for three seasons before joining LSU. He reunited there with Austin Thomas, LSU’s General Manager, who previously helped bring Bolden to Ole Miss.

Bolden’s reputation as a top recruiter in the SEC is notable. On3 Sports labeled him one of college football’s “off-field recruiting stars” of the current recruiting cycle, highlighting his effectiveness.

Born and raised in Mississippi, Bolden played wide receiver at Southern Miss. During his collegiate career, he recorded 104 catches for 1,393 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Before Ole Miss, Bolden’s resume included roles at UCF as wide receiver assistant coach and Director of Recruiting Relations. He also served as Assistant Director of Player Personnel at Florida and was a graduate assistant at Arkansas.

His ability to build relationships has been instrumental for Ole Miss. According to sources, “Kelvin Bolden is one of the SEC’s best relationship guys” and contributed strongly to Ole Miss signing a top 20 recruiting class.

Bolden’s early involvement with Ole Miss coincided with significant progress for the program, including a College Football Playoff (CFP) run. This return signals Ole Miss’s intent to maintain momentum.

He officially announced his return to Ole Miss on social media, expressing enthusiasm about rejoining the Rebels’ staff. The move comes amid speculation around Ole Miss’s coaching future under Lane Kiffin.

This staff change may impact recruiting strategies as Ole Miss competes with in-state and SEC rivals. Bolden’s deep connections within Mississippi high school football amplify this influence.

Ole Miss continues to build infrastructure to support sustained success in SEC competition. In Bolden, they gain a seasoned administrator known for talent acquisition and program development.

Fans and analysts will watch how this hire influences Ole Miss’s recruiting classes and overall trajectory in the months ahead. For now, Bolden’s return bolsters the Rebels at a crucial time in college football.
