A 19-year-old Texas woman named Camila Mendoza Olmos disappeared early on Christmas Eve, triggering a significant search effort near her home in San Antonio. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office reported she was last seen at approximately 6:58 a.m. outside her residence on the 11000 block of Caspian Spring.
Authorities noted that Camila’s mother alerted them after the young woman failed to return from a routine morning walk within a reasonable time. Video surveillance captured an individual who is believed to be Camila searching inside her vehicle for an unknown item shortly before she vanished on foot.
Camila’s vehicle was found at the residence, indicating that she left without it. The only known belongings on her at the time were her car key and possibly her driver’s license, according to deputies.
Her mother, Rosario Olmos, shared with local media that Camila’s cell phone was found turned off on the bed. Rosario added that she had expected to find her daughter walking nearby as she usually does.
More than 100 volunteers, including family members, joined the search efforts throughout the local area. Camila’s father, Alfonso Mendoza, described the situation as “real hard” during interviews with news outlets covering the case.
The sheriff’s office provided a physical description of Camila, stating she is approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds. At the time of disappearance, she was wearing a baby blue and black hoodie, baby blue pajama bottoms, and white shoes.
Officials continue to urge anyone with information about Camila Mendoza Olmos’s whereabouts to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. The family remains hopeful and is appealing to the public for assistance in bringing her safely back home.
