Hilary Duff Sits On Matthew Koma’s Lap Before Lunch, A Quiet Display Of Marital Ease

Hilary Duff was spotted getting comfortable with husband Matthew Koma before lunch in Studio City, California, where the pair waited for a table at Great White. The moment drew attention because Duff sat on Koma’s lap while he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her shoulder.

Duff wore shredded denim shorts and flip-flop sandals for the outing, while carrying a water bottle, iPhone, and large black purse. Great White, the Australian-style restaurant known for its smoked salmon pizza, opened on January 31 after the success of its Larchmont and West Hollywood locations.

The relaxed public display reflected the couple’s long relationship, which started after they first met in 2013 while Duff was working on her fifth studio album, Breathe In. Breathe Out. At that time, she was still married to her first husband, Mike Comrie.

Duff and Koma began dating in 2017, and he also oversaw the recording of her sixth studio album, Luck… or Something. The two have since built a large family together, welcoming daughters Banks, Mae, and Townes.

Duff is also mother to son Luca Comrie from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie, a former NHL center. Their three-year marriage ended in 2014, and the divorce was finalized in 2016.

The lunch stop came during a busy period for Duff, who recently landed a place on TIME’s list of the 100 Most Influential People. Nicole Richie wrote the essay accompanying Duff’s inclusion and described her as someone who lives in “that rare space of both nostalgia and now.”

Duff is also preparing for a packed run of appearances and live performances. She is scheduled to deliver Northeastern University’s commencement speech at Fenway Park in Boston, then return to Voltaire at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas for three sold-out nights before launching The Lucky Me Tour, her first world tour in nearly 20 years.

Koma has also stayed active professionally, recently saying he had finished recording new music and calling it “our best music yet.” The couple’s appearance in Studio City showed them balancing family life, work, and public attention while keeping their relationship visibly affectionate.
