CHUWI has opened pre-orders for the UniBook AI, its first AI laptop designed to run artificial intelligence locally without depending on internet access or cloud services. That positioning makes it stand out immediately in a market where most AI laptops still sit in premium territory. The most striking part is the price. The standard UniBook AI starts at $499, or around Rp7.6 million, while the launch promo lowers it to $449, or around Rp6.8 million. Local AI performance without the premium label At the center of the machine is the Intel Core 3 304 “Wildcat Lake,” a newly released processor paired with an integrated Neural Processing Unit. CHUWI says the NPU can reach up to 15 TOPS in Int8, which exceeds Microsoft’s 10 TOPS minimum for Copilot+ PC devices, even though this model does not carry the Copilot+ branding. That hardware allows the laptop to handle AI tasks directly on the device.
