Lenovo’s 14-Inch IdeaPad Slim 5 Gets 120 Hz Displays, Panther Lake Options, and Wide Price Gaps

Lenovo’s latest IdeaPad Slim 5 refresh is shaping up to be more varied than a typical 14-inch thin-and-light update. The lineup is moving beyond basic display and processor options, with 120 Hz panels and Intel Panther Lake now appearing alongside other configurations in selected markets.

That shift matters because many slim laptops in this size class still rely on 60 Hz screens. By adding a faster panel option, Lenovo is giving the IdeaPad Slim 5 14-inch family a clearer appeal for everyday navigation, media use, and buyers who want a smoother-feeling display.

A stronger display menu for a compact laptop

For the IdeaPad Slim 5 14IPH11, Lenovo is preparing several screen choices instead of a single fixed configuration. PSREF lists OLED 60 Hz, IPS 120 Hz, and, in some markets, an OLED 2.8K 120 Hz option as well.

That mix gives the model a wider spread of use cases. Buyers looking for smoother motion can choose a 120 Hz panel, while those who prefer OLED still have that path available.

The laptop also comes with a 60 Wh battery, which fits its role as a portable 14-inch machine meant to travel easily while still handling work away from a desk.

Intel Panther Lake joins the configuration list

Lenovo is also planning an Intel version with Core Ultra 7 356H. According to PSREF, that chip has twice the number of cores compared with the Core Ultra 5 325 and Core Ultra 7 355 used as comparisons in the same line.

The system can be configured with up to 32 GB of DDR5-5600 memory. Storage support goes up to an M.2 2242 SSD with 1 TB capacity, which keeps the machine suitable for heavier everyday use.

AMD model appears, but availability is uneven

Alongside the Intel model, Lenovo is also lining up the IdeaPad Slim 5 14AGP11 for certain markets. Even so, availability is not consistent yet, and in some regions the model still shows as unavailable in Lenovo’s configurator.

That makes the AMD rollout less clear for now, even though the product pages have already appeared on several Lenovo sites. Lenovo has not provided further clarification on how availability will differ from one market to another.

Germany is a notable exception, where pre-configured units can be added to the cart. One SKU with a Ryzen AI 7 445, 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage is listed as ready to ship for €1,199.

Prices vary widely by region

Lenovo has also started showing launch prices for the IdeaPad Slim 5 14IPH11 in multiple markets. In Australia, pricing starts at AUD 1,499, while the euro-zone range sits between €1,099 and €1,229.

Other listed starting prices include HKD 7,850 in Hong Kong, MYR 4,280 in Malaysia, and £970 in the UK. The spread suggests Lenovo is positioning the 14-inch model differently across regions rather than using a single global price point.

Taken together, the new display options, Intel Panther Lake support, and selective AMD availability show that Lenovo is rolling out the IdeaPad Slim 5 14-inch line in stages. For buyers watching the thin-laptop segment, the combination of 120 Hz panels and region-specific pricing makes this one of the more notable updates in the class.
