Galaxy S22, Z Flip 4, And Z Fold 4 Miss One UI 8.5 As Samsung’s June Roadmap Emerges

Samsung’s leaked One UI 8.5 roadmap is drawing a clear line between newer flagship devices and the company’s 2022 premium models. Galaxy S22 series owners, along with users of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4, do not appear anywhere in the schedule for the next interface update.

That omission matters because it points to a practical end point for major software upgrades on those devices. They will still receive security updates, but the roadmap suggests that One UI 8.5 is not part of their software path.

The information surfaced from a document found by Samsung tipster @Alfaturk16 on Samsung Hong Kong’s website. SammyGuru highlighted the discovery as well, and Samsung’s update approach is said to be consistent across regions.

The document separates devices into two groups: those marked as “update completed” and those still scheduled to receive One UI 8.5. The Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 4 are absent from both categories.

That absence reinforces the original software promise tied to these phones. For these models, Samsung’s four-year software support window appears to mean that One UI 8 will stand as the final major operating system upgrade.

Devices already marked complete

The same document shows a broad set of Samsung products that have already finished the One UI 8.5 rollout. The completed list includes the Galaxy S25 series, S25 Edge, Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, S24 FE, S24 series, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and S23 series.

That detail makes the gap between the 2023 and 2022 flagship lines especially noticeable. Samsung is clearly moving forward with its newest interface on newer generations while older premium models are left out of the next step.

What is still waiting for June

Another part of the document identifies devices expected to get One UI 8.5 in June. The list is not limited to high-end phones and also covers midrange phones and tablets.

Among foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are included in the June schedule. The Galaxy A lineup on the list includes A56 5G, A36 5G, A17 5G, A55 5G, A35 5G, A25 5G, A15 5G, A16 5G, A54 5G, and A34 5G, along with the M34 5G.

Samsung’s tablet plans for June are also extensive. The list includes the Tab S11 series, Tab S10 FE series, Tab S10 Lite, Tab A11+, Tab A11, Tab S10 series, Tab S6 Lite 2024, Tab S9 series, Tab S9 FE, and Tab Active 5.

Why the leaked roadmap stands out

The size of the June list makes the missing 2022 flagships stand out even more. Samsung is supporting a wide range of devices with the next One UI version, but the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 4 are no longer in that group.

That shift is important for buyers who track software longevity closely. On a flagship phone, update support is now part of the device’s value, not just an added bonus.

For current owners of the Galaxy S22, Z Flip 4, and Z Fold 4, the message is straightforward. Security updates should continue, but the leaked roadmap indicates that One UI 8.5 will not reach those models.
