Logitech’s G Cloud has suddenly become a much more compelling buy, thanks to a sharp drop to $199.99 from its original $299.99 asking price. That change gives the Android handheld a far stronger case for people who want a device dedicated to cloud gaming and local game streaming.
The lower price also puts it in a more interesting position against other streaming-focused handhelds. One of the clearest comparisons is PlayStation Portal, which is currently priced at $249, making Logitech’s device the cheaper option by a noticeable margin.
A discount that changes the conversation
This latest offer comes directly from Logitech’s official website. It is not a broad, all-model promotion, though, because the discount applies only to the Black version released in 2025.
The White variant is reported to be out of stock. That limits the promotion’s reach, but it does not reduce the impact of the price cut for shoppers who were already considering the Black model.
G Cloud itself is not a new product. Logitech launched the Android handheld in 2022 at $349.99, then lowered the official price to $299.99 soon after.
Since then, the device has appeared in multiple retail promotions. Even so, the current reduction is one of the most aggressive official cuts it has received, bringing the sticker price down to $199.99.
Built for streaming first
Although G Cloud is nearing four years in age, its hardware still matches its intended role. The device uses a 7-inch FHD display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 450 nits.
Inside, Logitech equips it with a Snapdragon 720G, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable, which helps soften the limitations of a lightweight configuration.
The rest of the hardware stays focused on practical use rather than high-end gaming power. It includes stereo speakers, a headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.1 with Qualcomm aptX Adaptive, Wi-Fi, and audio support over USB-C.
Power comes from a 23.1Wh battery, and Logitech claims more than 12 hours of use. That battery life remains one of the device’s more appealing traits for long streaming sessions.
More than just cloud gaming
The G Cloud was designed primarily for cloud gaming and local game streaming. Because it runs Android, it can also install games from the Google Play Store.
That opens the door to retro emulation as well. In addition, the device is said to be capable of running some light PC games through apps such as GameNative and Gamehub.
Logitech also released a major update last year to improve the user experience. That update added a more game-focused interface, a dynamic home screen, Blacknut Cloud Gaming support, and better compatibility with XR glasses such as the Xreal One Pro AR.
Why the Portal comparison matters
The new $199.99 price makes the G Cloud stand out more clearly as a lower-cost alternative to PlayStation Portal. That comparison matters because Sony’s device is limited to PS5 streaming through Remote Play or through an active PS Plus Premium subscription.
For buyers who want an Android handheld built around streaming without being tied to a console ecosystem, G Cloud still has a distinct place. Logitech’s discount also extends the commercial life of a device that has not yet been followed by a successor.
