Telkomsel and TVRI are widening how Indonesians can follow the 2026 World Cup by bringing the tournament to MAXStream TV with a more flexible viewing model. The collaboration is designed to reduce dependence on a single screen or conventional television schedules, while keeping access open through streaming and TV channels.
Through the “Bola Gembira MAXStream TV” program, viewers can access up to 104 full matches, along with highlights and premium content available on the platform. The service is positioned as the main entry point for audiences in Indonesia who want a more practical way to follow football’s biggest event.
Broader access across devices and regions
The partnership is also tied to efforts to make World Cup coverage more evenly available across Indonesia. Telkomsel says its expanding internet network, including 5G technology, can help deliver a more stable streaming experience for viewers in different areas.
That flexibility extends to how people watch. Matches can be viewed on smartphones or through TV channels, giving audiences more than one option for following the tournament. The arrangement is intended to make the experience less dependent on traditional broadcast limitations.
Telkomsel Marketing Director Lionel Chng said the World Cup is more than a sporting competition. He described it as a moment that can bring people together across regions, while emphasizing the company’s commitment to helping customers enjoy every stage of the tournament easily and comfortably.
100,000 free accesses for the public
Beyond opening access more widely, Telkomsel and TVRI are also providing 100,000 free accesses to Bola Gembira MAXStream TV. The offer is aimed at people who need additional support so they can still watch the 2026 World Cup without access barriers.
The free access program adds an inclusive layer to the service as public enthusiasm for the tournament rises. It gives viewers another path to follow the matches even if cost or service limitations would otherwise make access difficult.
Special data packages start at Rp25,000
To support streaming, Telkomsel is also offering special World Cup data packages at affordable prices. These packages are available in two choices and can be purchased directly through the MyTelkomsel app.
The first option is the Bola Gembira MAXStream TV 7-day package with 300MB of data for Rp25.000. The second is the Bola Gembira MAXStream TV 60-day package with 5.5GB of data for Rp85.000.
Both packages include tax. They are meant to help users stream matches on MAXStream TV without worrying too quickly about running out of data.
Interactive programs and extra rewards
Telkomsel is not limiting the initiative to streaming access alone. The company is also rolling out engagement programs to accompany the tournament, including watch parties in several cities across Indonesia.
Customers can join gamification activities as well, with various prizes available. One of the rewards offered is a trip to the United States, one of the host countries of the 2026 World Cup.
TVRI’s Director of Development and Business, Retno Wulan Kartiko Purbodjati, said TVRI wants to make sure all Indonesians can still enjoy World Cup broadcasts on a wider scale. According to her, the matches will be available through Free-To-Air broadcasting as well as OTT services.
The collaboration also strengthens Indonesia’s digital ecosystem by combining interactive content, match highlights, and other digital experiences throughout the World Cup period.
