Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra Keeps Its Giant Display, But The Battery Story Hardly Changes

Fresh leaks suggest Samsung is preparing a Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra that looks very familiar in the areas that matter most to power users. The biggest surprise is not what changes, but what appears to stay almost the same.

According to GalaxyClub.nl, the upcoming premium tablet may keep the same 14.6-inch display size as the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. That would reinforce Samsung’s strategy of keeping the Ultra model squarely aimed at productivity and entertainment users who want a truly large screen.

A familiar display formula for the Ultra model

If the leak proves accurate, Samsung is likely choosing refinement over a dramatic redesign. The Ultra line already stands out through sheer screen size, and the company may see little reason to disrupt that formula.

For buyers, that means the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra could continue offering the same expansive canvas that made its predecessor appealing. In the premium tablet segment, that kind of continuity can be as important as a brand-new feature list.

Battery capacity may remain close to the previous generation

The leak also points to a battery package that may not move far from the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. That model arrived with an 11,600mAh battery, so expectations for the next Ultra are now centered on a similarly sized cell.

Charging speed is also expected to remain at 45W. If that holds, Samsung would be maintaining the same balance between large capacity and practical refill times that it already uses on the current model.

Performance could still get a flagship upgrade

While the display and battery appear conservative, the performance side may still receive a major refresh. The same leak indicates that Samsung could use a flagship MediaTek chipset, with the Dimensity 9500 emerging as a likely candidate.

That would keep the Ultra positioned as the most powerful tablet in Samsung’s lineup, even if the external formula stays largely intact. Final hardware details are still unconfirmed, so the exact configuration remains open for now.

Samsung’s Tab S12 lineup may be smaller than before

Earlier leaks also suggested Samsung might skip a standard Galaxy Tab S12 this year. Instead, the company may launch only the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, identified by the model numbers SM-X846 and SM-X946.

If that plan is correct, Samsung would be simplifying its flagship tablet range around two clearer tiers. That approach could make the lineup easier to understand for shoppers looking at the premium end of the market.

Samsung is still expected to introduce the Galaxy Tab S12 series in September 2026. For now, though, all of these details remain based on leaks and should be treated as preliminary until the company makes an official announcement.
