Asus’ 34-Inch OLED Monitor Arrives With 360Hz And Sharper Text

Asus has brought a new ultrawide OLED monitor to the United States, and the pitch is straightforward: speed, sharper text, and a premium panel. The ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDN is now available to order through Amazon and Newegg for $1,299.

That price places it firmly in the high end of the monitor market, but Asus is pairing it with hardware that aims to justify the cost. The monitor uses Samsung Display’s 5th Gen QD-OLED panel with an RGB stripe sub-pixel layout, a design meant to reduce color fringing and improve clarity in text and graphics.

A sharper take on ultrawide OLED

One of the biggest challenges for OLED monitors has been text rendering, especially for users who split time between gaming and everyday desktop work. Asus is positioning the PG34WCDN as a model that tackles that concern directly through the newer RGB stripe structure.

In practical terms, that means the display is not only built for fast-paced games but also for users who want a clearer-looking interface. The panel design is meant to make letters and on-screen elements look cleaner than on earlier OLED generations.

Key hardware and performance

The PG34WCDN uses a 34-inch curved ultrawide panel with a 1800R curvature and a resolution of 3440 x 1440. It also pushes refresh rate to 360Hz, which puts it among the fastest ultrawide gaming monitors currently announced.

Specification Detail
Screen size 34 inches
Panel shape Ultrawide, curved 1800R
Resolution 3440 x 1440
Refresh rate 360Hz
Panel 5th Gen QD-OLED
Sub-pixel layout RGB stripe
Full-screen brightness Up to 500 nits
Peak HDR brightness Up to 1,300 nits
USB-C 90W power delivery
DisplayPort DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20

Asus also says the panel can reach up to 500 nits in full-screen brightness and up to 1,300 nits at peak HDR. Those numbers help the display stand out in the OLED category, where brightness has often been one of the main trade-offs.

Protection and connectivity matter too

The company has added a BlackShield coating to the panel, which it says deepens blacks by 40% and improves scratch resistance by 2.5 times compared with earlier QD-OLED monitors. That makes the display more than just a gaming upgrade on paper.

Connectivity is another sign that Asus wants this monitor to work as a daily-use display, not only as a gaming centerpiece. It includes DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 bandwidth and a USB-C port with up to 90W power delivery.

A premium launch in a crowded lane

At $1,299, the PG34WCDN is entering a segment that is already expensive even by OLED standards. It is also being compared with the MSI MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36, which uses a similar panel but is listed at $899.99, though that model is not yet available in stores.

That gap makes Asus’ strategy clear. The PG34WCDN is aimed at buyers who want the newest panel design, very high refresh rates, and extra refinements in one package rather than chasing the lowest price.

The monitor is also one of the first products built around this new RGB stripe QD-OLED approach to reach retail in the U.S. Other models expected to use similar panels include the MSI MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36, Gigabyte MO34WQC36, Acer Predator X34 F3, and HP OMEN 34-inch OLED.

For now, Asus has the early advantage in availability, and that may matter as much as the specifications themselves for buyers looking at the newest wave of ultrawide OLED monitors.
