Apple Intelligence is set to be one of the defining features of iOS 27, alongside the new Siri AI capabilities introduced at WWDC 2026. But while the update will reach a wide range of iPhones, the smarter AI functions will remain limited to models with more capable hardware.
That makes the compatibility list important for users who want to know whether their device can handle the new experience. According to Kompas.com, Apple Intelligence and Siri AI on iOS 27 will not be available to every iPhone that supports the operating system.
The iPhone models that support Apple Intelligence and Siri AI
Apple’s AI features on iOS 27 are available on 12 iPhone models. The list includes the newest devices as well as selected Pro models from the previous generation.
- iPhone 17e
- iPhone 17
- iPhone 17 Pro
- iPhone 17 Pro Max
- iPhone Air
- iPhone 16e
- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
This means the feature is restricted to devices that can handle the heavier computational load required by Apple Intelligence. Models outside that list may still receive iOS 27, but they will not get the full Siri AI experience.
Support also extends beyond iPhone
Apple Intelligence and Siri AI are also available on iPad mini (A17 Pro), iPad and Mac models with M1 or newer chips, and Apple Vision Pro. Kompas.com also noted that Apple Watch Series 10 or later, Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later, and Apple Watch SE 3 can access the features when connected to a nearby iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence.
iOS 27 is expected to arrive for the public around September 2026, following a similar release pattern to iOS 26, which reached users in mid-September last year. For iPhone owners, the key question is not just whether their device will run the new software, but whether it is on the short list for Apple’s AI-powered upgrade.
