Samsung’s next rugged tablet is starting to take shape, and the most notable clue so far is 5G support for the Galaxy Tab Active6. The leak does not reveal the full device, but it does suggest that the company is preparing the model for an early 2027 release.
That timing is based on the information currently circulating around the international version, which is said to carry the model number SM-X316B. For buyers who follow Samsung’s business-focused tablets, the detail is enough to show that the next Active series device is already in development.
A rugged tablet line built for work
The Galaxy Tab Active family has always targeted business and industrial users rather than mainstream entertainment buyers. That positioning makes durability the most important expectation, and the next generation is likely to keep that identity intact.
Little else is known about the Galaxy Tab Active6 at this stage, including its design and internal hardware. Even so, the rugged form factor is widely expected to remain, since the series is meant for heavy-duty use in demanding environments.
What the previous model tells us

A Pro model is already in the lineup
Samsung also sells the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro, which offers a larger display and a more powerful chipset. It gives the rugged line an additional option for users who need a higher-end device in the same category.
There is still no word on a successor to the Pro model, which leaves the Galaxy Tab Active6 as the main focus for now. The newly surfaced 5G information and model number are the clearest signs yet that Samsung is moving ahead with the next standard Active tablet.

5G support is especially relevant for a tablet designed for business and field deployment, where stable connectivity can be more important than flashy design changes. In that context, the leak suggests Samsung is still aligning the device with real-world work needs.
