Garena Free Fire is preparing a major football-themed takeover with Fire Kickoff, an event scheduled from 5 to 23 June 2026. The update brings a stadium-like atmosphere into the game and adds multiple interactive elements that blend battle royale action with football energy.
The most notable shift is not just visual. Garena has also redesigned parts of the gameplay loop, giving Survivors new ways to move, fight, and return to the match during the event period.
Bermuda’s Factory gets a new role
One of the clearest changes appears in Battle Royale mode, where Factory on the Bermuda map has been transformed into a functional football field. The location now serves as more than a themed backdrop and can be explored as part of the match itself.
The redesigned area includes interactive objects that can be used for tactical play. That gives teams more options for defense, attack, and movement in the same space.
Coming back through Pitch Showdown Revival
Free Fire is also introducing a new mechanic called Pitch Showdown Revival. It gives eliminated players a way to fight for re-entry after being taken out early.
During the opening to mid stages of a match, fallen Survivors are sent into a one-on-one duel. Winning that contest is the path back into the battlefield and another chance at Booyah.
Football Form and Football Blast expand the combat style
Two other mechanics deepen the event’s football theme. Football Form lets a character instantly transform into a giant soccer ball, creating a faster and less predictable way to rotate across the map.
Football Blast adds an exclusive grenade-launching weapon to Battle Royale mode. It fires football-shaped grenade ammunition toward enemy positions and opens a more chaotic attacking style.
Mini game progress leads to event rewards
Beyond the main mode changes, Fire Kickoff also includes an adventure mini game built around a fictional football career. The journey runs through five stages, starting with group qualification and ending in a final match at the main stadium.
Each stage asks players to complete challenging missions and ball-kicking skill games aimed at the goal. Successful runs award special tokens that unlock progress on the event reward board.
Cosmetics and themed items round out the event
Garena is also offering event-exclusive prizes, including a Female Bundle and a football-themed backpack for players who complete the full career path. In addition, there is a Football Jersey collection that can be customized with a player’s chosen name and number.
Other themed rewards include a Gloo Wall defense skin, a sports car, a distinctive hairstyle, and a goal-celebration emote. Together, these items make Fire Kickoff one of Free Fire’s most football-heavy seasonal events.
The update shows how Free Fire is using a sports theme to alter both the look and the feel of a match. By mixing visual redesigns, revival duels, and new movement tools, Garena is turning football into more than decoration inside the game.
