Samsung has highlighted a set of lesser-known camera controls for the Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G that are designed to make everyday shooting more precise. The most notable benefit is not a dramatic new sensor, but finer control over how the camera behaves when subjects move quickly or when users record video for longer periods.
Focus Control for Fast-Moving Moments
One of the most useful options is Prioritize Focus Over Speed, a setting available through Camera Assistant in the Good Lock ecosystem. Instead of taking the photo as quickly as possible, the camera gives focus lock priority before capture, which can help reduce blur.
That approach is especially relevant for scenes that are hard to retake, such as children running, passing vehicles, sports activity, or spontaneous travel shots. For mid-range premium phone users, that extra control can make the difference between a usable frame and a missed moment.
Cleaner Selfies and Wider Shots
Samsung also includes Photo Softening and Distortion Correction to refine portrait-style and ultra-wide images. Photo Softening is intended to make facial results look smoother and more natural without pushing the effect too far.
Distortion Correction addresses the bending effect that often appears at the edges of ultra-wide photos. It is useful for group selfies, travel scenes, and building shots, where proportions and straight lines matter more than a stylized look.
Together, the two controls give users more room to tailor the final image to the situation. That flexibility can be helpful whether the goal is a polished social post or a straightforward personal record.
Longer Recording with Less Battery Drain
For video users, Samsung points to Dim Screen While Recording as a practical battery-saving option. When enabled, the display dims automatically while recording continues, helping reduce power use during extended shoots.
The feature fits travel vlogs, timelapse clips, concert footage, family events, and longer social media recordings. In those situations, keeping the screen bright the entire time can consume battery more quickly than expected.
Camera Assistant Makes the Experience More Personal
Samsung positions Camera Assistant as a way to make photography and videography feel more personal and adaptable. Rather than relying only on automatic behavior, users can adjust the camera to match the situation at hand.
Annisa Maulina, MX Product Marketing Senior Manager at Samsung Electronics Indonesia, said Camera Assistant allows the camera to be personalized according to each user’s needs. The message is clear: Samsung wants the Galaxy camera experience to feel more configurable for everyday use, not just technically capable on paper.
Price and Market Position
The Galaxy A57 5G starts at Rp7,6 juta, while the Galaxy A37 5G starts at Rp6,6 juta. Both models are available in Indonesia through Samsung Store and official partners.
Samsung also equips the two phones with an AMOLED 120Hz display, a 50 MP OIS camera, a 5,000 mAh battery, and newer AI features. With Camera Assistant added to the mix, the pair is positioned as appealing options for users who want more control over photos and video without moving up to a flagship phone.
